2008 or Wait?

Ok, I have been trying to work this out. I will be graduating college soon and I would like to buy a new 8. Here is what I have been thinking about:

I could a) Buy an 8 upon graduation and begin working on it.

Pros: I have the car upon graduation/dont have to wait, it is not a first generation

Cons: Maybe missing out on the new rx8

b) Wait a couple years and be without a car and buy the new 2010 rx8 Possible FI which is good cause I wouldnt have to void my warrenty

I don't know what to do and any suggestions would be great...

Also, if i do decide to buy one soon instead of waiting, if mazda releases an rx8 with a turbo or supercharger would i be able to possibly purchase this separately and have mazda install it so that it would not void my warrenty

Oops, looks like you edited your post making my comment make no sense.

Anywho, if you can be financially comfortable then you could go for it. If you're moving away from home for a job or something after graduation I'd say wait a few months to see what all your new expenses will be.

How would the style look in 4 years? You might not like it.. I'd buy it now. Or, when you can. 2010 is far away. But hey, that's just what I think..

what about if mazda releases a turbo/supercharger for the 2010? would i be able to purchase it and install it without voiding the warrenty? is there any chance this would be possible? this is the one thing that is actually causing me to ponder waiting till 2010...but if i can do purchase it separately then im all good

Mazda isn't going to make FI for a rotary car, don't worry about it. Just get your own turbo, there's going to be a bunch of kits out by the end of the year. And the looks of the car should look relatively modern for a long time to come.

buy an '05 for cheap. put your own turbo in it. if they release something you want in 2010, buy that then.

I understand that there has been a lot of rumors about whether or not mazda will be making a mazdaspeed rx8 with FI but is there any significant reasons or information supporting that mazda will def. not be doing this in the near future?

Nobody can be 100%, there's no information that says they will or will not, but considering the RX-8 as N/A 'barely' passes emissions laws, a FI 8 probably wouldn't.

trust raptor2k, chance of mazdaspeed rx8 and/or FI is next to nil. The FI rumors are several years old, if it was going to happen, it would have happned already. buy one now and enjoy it. Just make sure you can afford it, I just graduated college in May and know too many people that ruined their financial future buying a car they cant realistically afford.
good luck!

Plus there's always the option of trading in for a 2010 8. 3 years out of college you should be able to foot the difference in payments/deposit.

Buy a used 05/06 with low miles and then change out if you feel like it later.
