2008 Model Expected When?
When do you expect the 08 RX-8 will be announced? From reading old posts it appears that the 07 model info was released in late May of 06. Is it reasonable to expect that the 08 model info will be released soon? What would be a good guess for the time-frame 08's hit the dealer lots?

After a sales manager told me last week that he knew for a fact there would be no changes on the 2008 RX-8, I called Mazda (800-222-5500) this morning to see if that could be verified. No, no information yet, but they didn't expect anything more than minor changes.

Any word on a possibility of the hydrogen/gas powered RX-8 being released in the US? I was reading an article from a year or two ago after Mazda test drove the prototype, and the article claimed that the hydrogen version was suppose to go production in Japan in 06? Any insight into this? I just think it would be cool to own a car that has two different technologies on it that no other car on the road has.

I for one already think that Mazda has an amazing assortment of colors for the RX-8. Gotta be some of the best stock colors on the road today. Stormy Mica Blue, Nordic Green, Brilliant Black, Titanium Grey, Galaxy Grey, Black Cherry, etc. I don't think there are any that aren't amazing looking (although I have to say the Red and Yellow are not for me).
What other color combinations can they possibly come up with that would increase the line? I really can't think of any.

They put out that MZ tune garbage on the Mazda Japan site. Maybe that will be the "upgrade" for 08.
To come out with a "Puke Orange" RX-8 or some other color would not be the smartest move.
Mazda/Mazdaspeed need to get smarter really soon. Just really no excuse to not put out an extra ~50HP. People want to see HP increases and not powerless Mazdaspeed logos, new CD/DVD player, or some new strange color.

does anyone other than us performance nuts really care about any more horsepower?
im thinking no.
none of the engineers seem to care. Mazda corporate doesnt seem particularly concerned. no one in any kind of power overseeing the 8's production seems the least bit interested. in 5 years of production, all we get are colors, limited edition colors, and import-only limited edition colors. teh ****?
