2005 still being delivered?
Hi all. I'm back (after a bit over a year with my 97 Miata after replacing my totaled 626 with it).
In doing some searching, it seems 2006 won't arrive until march at the earliest, pushed back from January.
I'm curious if there are still 2005s that will be arriving at dealerships between now and march or if mazda has shipped all the 2005s and there's just going to be a lag between then and now. I ask because while I see $2500 incentive right now, it might be waiting a couple of months when they will likely increase. however, if no more 2005's will be arriving, by march, supply on 05's could be awfully thin.
And I'll ask now, are there any other "hidden" incentives on the RX-8 at this time? When does mazda update their deals?
And can you get Sirius built in yet? I dont' see that as an option on the website....but maybe I missed it.
I'm back because while I love that little Miata, I have grown a bit tired of the lack of comfort in the car. It is unbelievably loud on the highway from wind and road noise, and because the car is old and a convertible, the jiggles over the years have resulted in far too many rattles, squeaks, etc. I've decided I'm willing to trade just a little bit of the sport and the convertible top (man i hope i don't regret that one) for more comfort, quiet, and high speed touring.
I've considered the Dodge Challenger as well, and I like it quite a lot. Roominess is a big one, but I decided I have to have that manual transmission.
We'll see if I actually decide to pull the trigger.

I don't know if 2005s are still being shipped but I got mine December 30 and there were still plenty on the lots. At that time, Browning Mazda in Cerritos had 50 in inventory and still wouldn't do the deal I wanted. I ended up getting a sport 6 spd for a net $7000 under MSRP at Anaheim Mazda (great dealer by the way) and I'm happy.
I still have my Miata even though its old, rattly, and has over 190K on her. I don't think I'll ever sell it anyways.

$7000 off MSRP! Wow. This was for a 2005 model?
I'll have to search for prices paid around the forum. I figured on using the Ford/Mazda plan (S-Plan?) through a friend. But that is a set price and it sure sounds like I can do a whole lot better with some tough bargaining. What were the incentives at the time of your purchase?
how in the world did they make any money on that car? I'm impressed! Congrats.
I'm looking for a 6 speed sport. Assuming i have your bargaining skills, that'd put me right about $22,000. I'd be happy with that I think.

My neighbour just got a new 2005 GT 6-spd for $8500 below msrp.
He said they probably would have gone even lower if he had pushed harder.
$9000 off msrp is certainly most achievable. Good luck.
