in the winter I use 5w30, summer I use 10w40. Non synthetic. Mainly because the most convincing arguement FOR synthetics is that it holds up viscosity better between long oil change intervals, making it actually last to the recommended 5,000 or 7,500
interval in most cases. I change mine every 3k max, so I don't see that extra cost as getting me anything more. Most oils hold up decently well to 3,000.
Though the arguement to use diesal oil is pretty strong, as it holds it's viscosity and anti-sheer properties in the rotary the best of anything tested so far.
I am not a hard-liner though. To me, keeping it above the minimum line and changed regularly is far more important than the formulation, grade, or weight.
