2004-2005 RX-8 good first car ?

I am turning 17 in october and i plan on buying a used RX-8 and i was wondering if anyone has a general idea what insurance might be like and if it is a good car for a new driver . also what are some good body kits and mods i can do to the car to make it look good and preform better.

its not a good first car
the insurance is gonna rape you being 17
also maintenance is gonna drain your pocket too

in a word, if you loaded with money, get one. if not, dont.

i can drive Rear wheel , i am driving a jaguar S-type right now , do you have any suggestions on a diffrent car?

Don't drive a car that's worth more than say $4k, or all your peers (and other drivers on the road) will think you're a spoiled douchebag. Especially if you put "look-at-me" modifications on your car such bodykits and cat-back exhaust.

I agree with everyone else, there are cars better suited for a first car. Maintenance is going to be too much for someone just becoming aquainted with driving and maintaining cars.

RX-8 is a great first car for a teenager. It requires some TLC. A 17 year old with a nice car is going to obsessed with it and probably lavish more care on it than any car later in life.

Call some insurance agents for quotes on that...it can vary all over the place.

Make sure you can afford whatever you get. Nothing is worse than having a car that sops up all your cash.
