Talking 1st Road trip!

Well tomorrow at 0700 am I start my first road trip in my 8. I plan on driving to Medford, New York (geographic center of L.I.) and returning on Monday. I hope the MPG issue is a bit better as I plan on staying on cruise the whole way, depending on the traffic situation of course.

Wish me luck.

Good luck! I've taken a couple of several hundred mile roadtrips in the 8. I've typically gotten 23-25 mpg on the highway at 60-75 mph.

Re: 1st Road trip!

I drive several times a year from Clearwater, to Norfolk. VA and I get 20something miles to the gallon too..

I didn't know you lived out that way.. I saw a silver in Virginia beach when I was there last thanks givin!

It's not uncomfortable to drive for 13+ hours.

Well I made it in one piece!

It took me about 10.5 hours to get here. I left at 0730 and arrived at about 6pm. It took me three hours alone to get from the toll booth at exit 13 off the New Jersey turnpike to my moms house at exit 64 on the LIE. It was stop and go continuoisly the whole way!

On a good note my mpg for the first leg of the trip was a whopping 26mpg! I got from Newport news, VA to Aberdeen MD on 9.6 gallons of gas and still had some to spare!

I took my MT on a 500 mi road trip last week and got 23.2mpg at 74mph on cruise. great car for touring the country side. I burn 87 octane. No M flash at the time. I'm really pleased with the overall performance of this car. I'm proud to own one.

Well I haven't replaced the battery yet. but will as soon as I get back home!

I was using estimates as I did not have my PDA handy which has the hard data!

The info in the other thread is correct. 9.54 gallons/25.99 mph
