1st to 2nd...

I'm having trouble shifting smoothly from 1st to 2nd gear..
I can shift somewhat smoothly when the rpm's over 4000.
but at lower rpms, I am kinda having problems shifting smoothly...
my friend who has a g35 drove my car and he shifted very smoothly at low rpms..
what should I do?

you probably arent giving it enough gas... when you do shift at lower rpm's ease the clutch off a lil slower or just rev the car a lil higher

you need to let off the clutch slowly.

You did not mention if you are new to manuals. You may need to find the engage point (where in the travel does the clutch actually engage) and sort of practice going through that. I would always suggest going by yourself and practicing different things

hey.. same thing happens to me.. but it is probably becuz you haven't upgraded ur pcm to M flash yet.. if i remember correctly from a previous thread, the M flash upgrade also helps the unsmooth transition from 1st to 2nd gear.. i'm gonna get my upg this friday at the dealership and hopefully everything will be alright

Don't take your foot off the gas right away after hitting the clutch, let it float a brief moment after you put the clutch in. Or just shift supa-fast, it doesn't seem to mind. :D

Because if you want to obtain the stated mpg, you shift at 2k. And drive the speed limit on the highway. It is acheivable for me but not worth the effort.
