190 or 230bhp model?

hi all,

going to look at buying an rx8 later..

its 6 speed, but does not have leather interior..

The owner is old and does not know which bhp model it is..
Is there a way in which i can tell??

yeah... the manuals never came with a 4-port engine, so you're all good.

yup.
4-port = lower power engine.
6-port = higher power engine.
All manuals are 6-port.
'04-'05 autos were 4-port.
'06-current autos are now 6-port.

It's not a USA car, but with a 9,000 rpm redline it's definitely a 231.

In the UK you can get a 4 port manual, sold as the 192. It has a 5 speed 'box and a 7,500 rev limit.
