189 V 228 bhp

iv been on this site for a yr now but im just finished college so mite b getting myself a rx8 soon and was Just wondering if it is possible to tell the difference between the 189 or the 228 bhp rx8 from just looking at the car? Or would you need to check the log book. Also is there any difference at all between the cars bar the difference in power?

If im not mistaking the 189 is the auto which i think is actually 212 bhp. and the 6 spd which is 232 bhp. and if you into modding, going fast, or racing DO NOT get the auto you will be dissapointed. also the auto redlines around 7.5 five i think where the 6 spd will redline to 9. just my unproffessional opinoin. i think the rims are different on the auto besides that i dont think ther is much appearance diff. just poke your head on the inside and look for a clutch , or an auto gear box w/ the paddle shifters on the steering wheel. the power difference between the two is night and day. auto=really slow 6 spd= fairly quick

the 04/05 autos have the 4-port 190 hp vs the 06+ which have the 6 port which have the 212 hp

Depends upon how you drive.

Take the AT and MT for a test drive.

First, go back to college and take some grammar courses...yeesh, write fragments much??!! LOL im breaking your ***** man, dont sweat it. IM sure you were just writing all fast without looking back.

Wheels are usually the giveaway but people often switch em so, just look into the window and see if stick or not. Only thing that really matters is whether or not it has stick.
