14 mpg :(. I want more power and better mpg with out voiding warranty

I am extremely disapointed in mazda for selling me a car with the impression that it gets 18 to 22 miles to the gallon i drive the interstate and city about equally and am gettin 14 mpg. I have 2500 miles on my rx8. Other than that i love the car. I want to add Horsepower and increase mpg without voiding the warranty. Can anyone help me.

WOW, just WOW. So, you bought a car, and never thought to do any independent research? You just ate up what the little window sticker said eh? If you're extremely dissapointed at anyone, it should be yourself. Simply joining this forum and doing a quick search for 'mileage' would have answered everything.

Good luck with the non-warranty voiding super mod. I think some have said the Revo intake gets them a little more in the mpg department, but not much hp. There really isn't any hp mods for the 8, save for FI.

mileage is supposed to get better with age. too bad you didn't find this site before you bought the car as you would have seen that mpg was an issue.

What are your driving habbits? N/A I was getting 17-19mpg, and boosted I'm getting 14-19mpg (depends on how hard I'm on it). Perhaps you are revving higher than me before you shift? Try shifting around 4k.

Yeah, gotta agree with the crowd. You should've done your homework before buying a car... and before buying aftermarket stuff.

This LINK lists how the EPA tests are done, Try driving your 8 like this and I bet you will get 18-24 MPG.
