Once you go turbo you will never go back. As long as you are realistic in your expectations and do proper, prior, planning then you won't regret it. The problem with most turbo builds is that people go into it cutting corners and not really committed or able to do it financially so the builds end up half assed and never really finished.
I would love some shop recommendations! Enlighten me lol, Ill def hit that user as well, as to turbo Im looking into something realistic and reliable, and really something under 300whp, I would be more than happy!

I'm at 115000 miles. Original motor, no major issues at all.
General maintenance
Ignition coils, plugs and wires every 10k-15k
Regular oil changes at 2500 miles using 5w-20 conventional

Issues
Cross threaded the spark plugs early on, retapped them no issues since

I'm the second owner and purchased the car at 30k
Drive it daily and drive it hard!!
Many road trips from south Florida to Soith Jersey and Soith Carolina

Love my 8 and will never sell!!!

Trouble with rx8 2005

The rx has 105,000. The recent issue is that the car doesn't pick up speed like it normally should. It takes a while. It picks up to 50-60 fine but I haven't tried pushing it more because I'm afraid of wrecking it. Also, when I let go off the gas pedal the car just turns off. What could be the issue?

This is not the thread for you to be asking your question. You need to search for topics based on your symptoms.
My advice is to search for threads dealing with power loss.

148209 with the original motor in it.

I had a 2005 automatic I bought from a woman, knowing it would more than likely need a motor and it at 174, and some change on it and it was on its 3rd motor. I stole the new tail lights and deck lid off the auto to put on the manual.

While I'm new here, luckily I had a more than mild knowledge of the rotary.

2004 GT Manual Velocity Red
Just passed 150,000, on original engine.

Has been my daily driver for the last 7 years, was a weekender before that. Still a blast to drive and looks great. This is my first post and wanted to thank everyone here for the tips and DIYs I've gotten here over the years. Have been through a lot with this car and hope to keep it going for as long as I can.

Hit 166,000 miles before it gave in. Stock engine, minimal work/service done to it. Not sure what is wrong. Could just be a simple fix, could be a major problem. No idea yet

I hit 117,000 in December before and I had to change my clutch and bearings. But at the same time when put her back together she never came back to life. I had to have it towed to the dealer to find out she was dead in the water my apex seals went. Good news though I had an extended warranty when I bought the car last year and well she got a new motor put in by Mazda and she runs like a champ.

Just crossed the 100,000 KMS, so 62K miles. Still going strong, with coil replacements now and then.

131,000 miles on chassis and original engine. A/T, but still makes me smile every time I drive it. Getting gas can be a chore. From time time to time it decides it does not want to start on the first go around, but it's still manageable and has never not started. She's still got moxie....and maybe a little bit of swagger too.....

I'm at 87K. Will be changing coils/plugs soon. I replaced my clutch once and O2 sensor. Otherwise, no issues, regular maintenance every 3K, using SAE 5W-20 for oil change. I have a 2007 GT. Never really baby it at all, red line pretty often and been to the track a few times now. Looking forward to officially join the club soon.

2004 GT just passed 117,000 today with original engine. Running great. Will be heading to Sears Point next weekend for 2-day HPDE. Can't wait to try the Nitto NT01's on new Enkei RPF1's.

Just recently went past 103,000 miles. Bone stock except the intake set up, i built my own to keep from sucking hot air from engine bay. yesterday i finished my 2 row all aluminum radiator swap, now i am trying to find the correct starter and some one here said order a 2007 starter and i will have the up graded starter so we shall see.

Original owner?

If you want the best starter get one from an 09+ RX-8, the S1 (03-08') upgraded starter is barely an upgrade. If you have a 6 speed manual that is.

Crossed 200,000 a couple weeks ago on my '04, on the second engine. The dealer says the compression is getting low on this engine too, so I don't know how long it will last.
