1/4 mile times and HP
what kinda numbers r u guys getting out of ur 8's hp and 1/4 mile . With dif mods and cost aswell. I got a 2004 6 speed the other day and i love the car just wish it had alittle more off the red light . looking for idea's with out breaking the bank

Find the cheapest turbo you can buy and then proceed to pissing in your gas tank because it gives an extra 50hp.
But in all honesty, the easiest and cheapest way to get more power off the line is buy a new car. This question has been asked many times.

ur right about the fact it burns up alot of gas , if u can keep the rmps down the its not so bad. saying i bought the wrong car ur way off base with that . got the car for only 6 gs and its mint with every opt. but a spoiler. when u dump the cultch and hit corners the way i drive . Cars all gravy in my books. dont want to spend 5 or 6 gs for a turbo kit . price i paid for the whole car . Drive it till the motor goes and swap a 3 rotor . Then we will c what time it is

ohhh man if I had a nickel for every person who just bought their car and said "Im gonna swap a 3 rotor"...
hhmmm "dont wanna spend 5K for a turbo but I was thinkin about spending about 30K for a 3 rotor", riiiiighhhhhttt!

If you got it for 6k then you probably shouldn't put a lot of money into it. It's hard to a accept but the rotary just doesn't last too long these days. If you don't take care of it right you'd be lucky to get to 100k miles without needing a rebuild. And even if you take great care of it you can't expect it to last much longer than that anyways. I'm assuming you have a lot of miles on it so have fun around the corners while you can. In my mind it's actually pretty fast off the line of you have a manual it just doesn't have the torque but that doesn't mean you can't be fast off the line. The best mod you can get will be a Cobb accessport. You will get around 13hp and 11 tq.

ya the car was a steal and it doesnt have hi clicks . came with a 800 dollar mazda speed cold air intake , ill just do the full exuast system from the head to tips , raceing pipe . set up that cobb thing .nice toy for cheap

crazy 8 thats some good edvise . i owed a 86 rx7 na when i was 19 so i know about the rotory motors . liked the 86 rx7 then like the rx8 now . how hard is it to put a 13b rew into an rx8 ? best of both worlds

The car is built to go around corners fast, if you bought it to go fast in a straight line then sell it would be my best advice.
Also, if you can't afford to throw 6 grand at a turbo kit for the stock engine, then forget about getting a 20b in there.

i was on the free way and a wrx sti was in front of me going 80 kms . i pulled up past him going 120 slowed down to his speed reved up honked the horn 3 times and i was in 2nd gear going 80 kms when we punched it and cars where neck and neck up to 140 - 150 then we had to slow down for traffic. cars quick if u get the gears right

no bull **** , maybe it was a normal wrx . but it had a huge wing and exuast i could hear the turbo spitting pritty hard. i dont get what the deal is with people hateing on the rx8 . dope car for 6gs . from everything u guys r saying . sell the car if im looking for something thats fast off the line. take ur advise and look for a rx7 twin turbo . hope i can find 1 thats left hand drive thats in good shape like the 8 but dout it. wish me luck
