09 tach on 08 rx8
Hey I have an 08' Rx8 and I really like the tach on the newly designed 09'. Is there any way to possibly get it swapped? Ya that would be great.

I'm lost. the 08+09 RX-8's are both the same "Series-II" version. Never knew that changed tacho's from last year to this year.
Could you be reffering to a Series-I to Series-II difference.......??
Series-I = MAR-03 - DEC-07
Series-II= JAN-08 - FEB-09+
if thats the case, then the tacho module should be the same but there will be an additional module powering the moving scale LEDs. How thats connected is not yet understood. Guessing its one of two possabilities.
Stand alone timer circuit that counts once the engine is running. Or an A-to-D circuit based on the water temp gauge signal 80mm away on the circuit board.
I am yet to see behind a tacho dash of a Series-II version.

Like J said in the first response . . . anything is possible if you've got the money. I can't even begin to imagine what a dealership would charge for something like that.

you would have to swap the can module, can controller, pcm and god knows how many other things... it would be cheaper to buy and 09 and try and make it look like an 08.. as in body parts and stuff... nice thought though....
