Your driving sound similar to my own. I drive it all between city limit to near suburbs so I am not downtown. In summer I'm getting about 12.5mpg and winter it drops into the 11's. Sounds like your almost 13.8 to 15.4 mpg. I'm still 1 to 3 miles per gallon less then you and more so then just about anyone else.

I went twice into Manhattan and my mileage dipped below 180. It's those traffic lights. Rotaries don't really like to idle, I think. The highest mileage I got was ~260, which was a highway road trip, again driving mildly most of the time with spirited bursts occasionally to pass tractor trailers and SUVs. I use 93 octane.

Raptor?!?! 12mpg OUCH man. That really stinks, but I hope every 12 miles @ 3 dollars is more fun then spending 30$ to enter a theme park for a 1/4 mile rollercoaster ride.

Yeah, I deal with a lot of traffic lights and stop signs on urban roads. My average trip length is about 3-5 miles. Hence, the poor mileage. I rarely use the expressway.

I have another Mazda that gets much better mileage, but this car is so much more fun to drive, I think the extra 7 cents a mile is worth it.

I have an early (5/03) 2004 MT GT. I get 16-17 mpg around town (approx 200-220 miles at yellow light). The best I have ever done is 22 mpg (flat highway, cruise, no stops).

Mine is a daily driver and so it's mostly mixed. So, I get anywhere from 220-250. It has about 2500 miles now.
