06 changes? again

i REALLY want an rx-8, but i'm afraid that the 06 model will have a superior engine or some significant changes. anyone have any facts about the 06? like when it will be available or anything new.

Nobody seems to know at this point. The sad thing is, almost anyone at Mazda involved with the RX-8 program should already know by now. They are just doing a great job of keeping it a secret. Either that, or there are no changes planned. C'mon just tell us already...

It will be revealed at Seven Stock.

It's the car in the show room.

There may or may not be a better transmission for the automatic allowing it to get full horsepower. But nobody really knows anything yet.

i do know for certain that the 06's will not be released till later november/december because apparrently one of the factory's in japan had a large fire which will delay the release of 06's by several months...

Hopefully they've actually been making some changes this whole time they've been quiet. If not that's going to be pretty disappointing.

I heard it has lasers and comes with fusion generators for extra HP. Everything at this point is speculation. Just be patient.

I believe the "white one in the showroom" refers to the supercharged RX8 project. We don't even know if that will get into production. Do a search for it.

Why is it being released in October? I mean the 04 Rx-8 was first released in July of 03.

October is Mazdas standard release date for next year's models. Mazda tends to favor July with the release of entirely new models -- it gets people into the showrooms to hopefully buy some of the clearouts for the upcoming model year change.

In that case why did they have white 05 RX-8s on the lot by July 04 when the 05 RX-8 wasn't even a new model?

Quite simply because they didn't.

The first Whitewater RX-8s were reported to be on lots in September at roughly the same time that all new Mazdas were hitting the lots.
