I dont know the top speed of the auto 8. But for your other question, driving yoru car on redline is okae but don't do continual driving on redline due to over heating that will to other problems.

 

I'm no expert, but rotaries are made to be revved, rev the hell out of it.

This has been discussed a ton on the AT Specific forums and generally everywhere else on this site it seems...

It has a limiter at 125, but some don't kick in to stop the car. Can go about 130-140. Rotaries can rev for hours, but the AT trans is a little weaker so just don't hold it at that high of rev. Power it up to 7k then shift. As long as you shift when you hit the rev limiter you will be fine.

 

i went atleast 152 in mine.

 

2004 Automatic RX8's are limited to 125mph by a governor. It should be the same for the 2005's. However it should change when they drop in the 6 port 6 speed transmission.

 

152, how the hell did you do that in a AT.

I haven't bought an 8 yet, thinking hard on it though. I am suprised that there is a governor on them. I've had my 2002 626 up to 130 before I backed off. (A lonesome quite night driving from CT to MO.)

I'm holding out on buying one until the 2006's show up. I would rather have the AT due to driving in mostly traffic except for weekends.

I would never go that fast unless I had after market tires that where rated for that kind of speed. I dont plan on Dying anytime soon lol!
