*** Doubled My MPG ***
As with a lot of 8 owners (not all but many) my 04 AT mpg was terrible.
My best had been 12mpg... my worst was 9 mpg. All of my driving is in
town and rarely exceeds 40 mph. My office is less then 3 miles away.
I had the latest flash, tried a pre-mix, had new plugs. No help.
I traded for an 06 MT Shinka and on my first 2 tanks I got 20 and 21 mpg
without any change in my driving habits...!
An expensive way to get better gas mileage but I am happier with the

I've done really well with mine also, getting over 20 MPG. My best so far is approximately 23.5. My last tank was 21.5 but it was also in the shop and I left little notes with them and all over inside my car and taped to the steering wheel telling them to make sure they didn't just turn it on and shut if off cold, that it needed to warm up. They let it run extra long just to be safe. My commute is a lot of freeway but also country roads where the speed changes very regularly and ranges between 25-45 usually with less a less than 1 mile stretch of 55. Then it's freeway at around 55-60. Then over the bridge into downtown where the speed is 25 although we never seem to get that fast. It's about 10 and stopping every block for numerous blocks.

I am sorry but this is misleading.
You are getting the mpg you should have gotten originally.
9-12 mpg is **** poor. Why didnt you take it back and tell them to either fix it or replace it with another car. 9-12 mpg sounds like a defect from the factory

Nope, you can get the "Shinka Pkg" on almost any color for the '06 models.

like to refer to them "Part Changers" said that the PCM readings were normal so
it was considered "my fault". I was accused of driving my AT too hard.
As for replacing it, like that would ever happen!

I think I may have a few more around here somewhere if you want one.
Or you could check with eBay, POLAK or other members here that work with graphics.
Here's my templete.
By the way, Thanks for your kind words.

Rotary Accents. My monthly lease payment actually decreased $7.00 with no
cash out of pocket.
Guess they were feeling guilty for lying to me when I purchased my 04.
They told me that the 04 had a Turbo, 250 WHP and that the AT had the same engine
as the MT.
On top of this, I had my car in numerous times with my poor MPG issues.

But really, I took it back and traded it for a black leather cover...
I didn't like it much either after it was installed.

I was a Hospital Corpsman 1973 to 81.
The licence tag frame is in memory of my Brother (Navy SEAL) who died on active duty.
Thanks for asking.
