Dumb question here, does having the aftermarket CAI help prevent this stuck valve problem in any way?

But me taking the car to the autox helps this stuck valve issue right? During the autox I"m forever bouncing it off the revlimiter.

They don't change the intake assembly when they switch the engine, they just throw the old unit on the new engine. So a replaced engine will mean nothing to this issue.

^ Thats not the point.

You need to check to see if it good before puting it on the rebuilt motor.

It it a simple test and shows lack of commitment on Mazda's part.

APV issues (continued)

Thanks for all the helpful tips. Please feel free to add any new information that may be helpful. I will try everything I can and see what works. A bit of bad news.

After driving it 2 days with no "check engine" light re-appearing (even after high RPM runs), my battery died at work. After getting it jump started, the "check engine" light came right back on. I tried revving it up several times, but light remained on. I guess when it rains, it pours

Before all this happened, I only drove it a day or two a week because I had a wheel bearing going bad and didn't want to push it until I could afford that repair. I guess that contributed to the issue inadvertently. Normally, I would drive with high RPM runs until then. Thanks again, everyone and I will keep you posted after I install a new battery. The shop didn't stock the size I need for the car, so it had to be ordered. ARRGGGHHH!!!
