$2500 to mod, what to do?

I have a 2005 white rx8, 6 speed manny, just under 50,000 miles, i very well know how to maintain my car, but a novice when it comes to installing my own parts. I have 2500 bucks to put into her, what should i do!?

What are your hopes to get out of it? Are you looking for power? Looks? Sounds? It all begins with which direction you are planning on going.

For Power, I would recommend the BHR Ignition System, Cobb Accessport w/MazdaManiac custom calibration, BHR Midpipe, Cat-Back Exhaust.

For Looks: Rims (with proper spacers if needed), drop it down (DON'T CUT THE SPRINGS!!), and maybe start a MS Bodykit?

For Sounds: Depending on what kind of sounds you want, maybe the AEM Intake, resonator, exhaust, etc.

Like I said it really depends what you are aiming for. I mean you could go preventative wise and get a good supply of premix, change all of your oils to performance, etc. There are a lot of options, but IMO, I would start with BHR Ignition, Cobb Accessport w/MM Tune, Cat-back exhaust (W/e is your favorite). That right there should eat up the $2500 nicely

Personally, I would add another 2500 and save it just in case you need an engine later down the road. But that's just me.

For 2500, you could get BHR ignition, Accessport, and a cat-back. You might go over a bit with the cat-back.

I am very satisfied with the performance of the rx8 stock, i think its an engineered masterpiece, but that's coming from a prior honda civic owner, bone stock civic, a horse and buggy was faster than it, i would like to have more sound, and appearance

I'm on the hunt for an exhaust myself. I want something a bit louder when on it hard but about the same as stock when cruising.

Magnaflow I had on the Cavalier autox car was like that. I was shocked how much louder the car was with out it. The ECOtec is a fairly quite engine normally though. To bad It's hard to find that for the 8.

i would never touch a cavalier, some cars are just better left alone , i never touched my civic for the specific reason of not being a tool and putting performance parts on a car that was never made for performance, similar to the cavalier ha

I can help you install parts if you need to. I have done some work on mine and know my way around alright. Between me and Adam, we should have everything covered. Adam does a lot of his work.
I need to take a look at your car, but there are a lot of little things you can do like changing out a few lightbulbs to LED's that will help the look at night a lot.
But with 2500, I would go BHR, exhaust, lowered, and a Cobb. And then have money left over for some little things. That will go a long way man.

i won't have my money until next semester rolls around, this wait is going to be longer than the wait to buy it haha, and to think i almost bought a z, then i realized i wasn't gay, but my uncle should have me covered on installing the exhaust if i give him money to buy beer, he has a full lift in his garage, he is a car collector haha

Two STS class championships, 05 & 06. Great little sleeper. Don't really miss it, but it was fun at the time.

Granted, but then I could not afford a "fast" car. I was right out of high school and had a few tickets. So, it was my best non Honda option at the time. Plus my old man got a $1000 voucher for any GM vehicle because of an old class action lawsuit on his '77 GMC pick-up. It was about some people getting killed because of the saddle tanks on those trucks. Both parents had new cars so I got a free extra $1k to use. It was a good car for me at the time. And making a slow car fast is also pretty fun.

actually, you can install those exhaust butterfly valves and activate when cruising.

Best mod is --- Pay me 2500, I will fly over to teach you how to change your oil.

well seriously, do whatever you want, Does it really matter what we like/do ? it's your car, your money, do whatever your guts tell ya to do.

Just don't buy any power chips nor turbonator. that's about it.

BHR Ignition System, AccessPort form MazdaManiac, the BHR Midpipe, and anything else you can next afford after that. The first two items deal with several problems while also providing benefits to driveability/performance while the last one simply sounds awesome and makes any cat-back sound better too.
