You guys know there are a few build threads in this club and on the 7club which state how to get around these things. All someone would really need is the engine mount...

Vac for brake booster? Post throttle? Why is that hard? I am sure the FD has a brake booster....

Throttle ... think about that for a sec ... the rx8 is drive by wire ... the FD isn't ... you can keep drive by wire if you bolt up the rx8 throtle body ... but then you need to keep the rx8 ECU
HOW are 'they' going to make this work in regard to..

Dash Cluster, Air Bags and Module, Cruise Control, HVAC, T body??

Let alone the CAN system is different again for Series 2.

A Frankenstein RX-8.

The title of the thread "REW-13B direct drop" is misleading.

A conversion like that would be anything but a direct drop.

Ah, so you still have to use the stock ECU which has everything to do with 1,2,3 and 4.

And electric Power Steering.

As none will function/work without OE ECU (PCM).

The new title is more appropriate - especially since the thread was started without further pics or info documenting how 'direct' the 'direct drop' is.

There is a way to get power steering to work without the stock ECU. Speedsource has done this ... but everything else ... yeah you need it

There is but if I can remember correctly the harness are a tad different. Also its like impossible to find a low mileage usdm motor that's rebuildable. So that's out of the question so.jdm would be better. Less things that are.broken accessory and wires and such.

The $$$ factor is what's going to make or break this "kit".

Mazdatrix is working on their market-ready "kit", based on Kyle's REW-powered 8, but I'm sure it'll be overpriced, as is the rest of their products.

I just had Mazdatrix install a zero-mileage OEM reman motor in my 8, which I would gladly sell, if I could essentially buy/build an REW setup for roughly the same price I paid.

Using the "good old PowerFC" would mean you'd have to use "shitty, hard, brittle, complicated, unreliable old FD wiring". Get a nice new standalone and custom harness and forget about that crap.

Damn dont you think building a custom harness would be a hard as **** dznutzuk?

Haltech? Interceptor x? Adaptronics?

I talked to Scott on the phone he said he could build me a harness for the interceptor x to mate it with the rx8 computer and 13b rew.

I know a lot of people don't like him, but Damn isn't he the first to do a production 13b rew motor mount for the rx8?

I think using and installing all the necessary crap from the FD in order to use the powerfc is much harder.

Don't know about the other Adaptronics and about the Interceptor X, but Haltech did put this connecting diagram out there that's below.

Well I personally never had any dealings with him, nor have I ever said anything about him, I really like his engine mount(unfortunately for me I have a bre engine which has side mounts and can't use it) and a couple of people got it and were happy with it.

this kit should have an option for a single turbo manifold that fits the rx8 with a high mount turbo and vmount intercooler/rad. all that fits properly. that would be a true solution to a rew swap minus fuel/electronics.
