when i repaired the turbo last year, i noticed a crack in the hks manifold(like they all do) and i had a few exhaust leaks.
i saw the artec manifold a while ago and i was pretty sure it would fit my car since it looks alot like the hks shape wise so i took a chance and bought one.
i wanted better response than my old setup so while i was in there i bought a new psr 6262g (g35-900) after talking with teamrx8 about sizing.
my local fab guy redid the downpipe with a screamer pipe instead of recirc
I noticed smoke was coming from my turbo oil feed line when i would turn off the car, checked the fittings and everything seemed fine. I then checked the heat sleeve and it was covered in oil. Found the an oil feed line was leaking from the hose after pressurising it with nitrogen (#hvaclife), see picture.
ordered the parts to get it fixed. After going thru the instal manual of the psr turbo, they mention the oil pressure before turbo restrictor shouldnt be more than 60psi at max rpm or 40-45 psi after the restrictor. So while i was replacing the oil feed line, i installed the oil « regulator » i bought a few years ago that i never installed. Its just a ball valve that reduces the pressure going to the turbo.
It was a pretty hard job, @TeamRX8 can confirm there is very little space on the chra of the g35/6262g turbos but i managed to make it work
The dump pipe from wastegate is very loud, more than i would have tought so i changed my wastegate spring from a 5psi to 13psi to keep the gate shut when im cruising around, will have to retune boost control. I have a 4 way boost control valve wich allows me to have a very soft spring but still can run 30psi if i want to. 13 would be the lowest boost id run anyway
fuel map seems good so far, had to trim 2.5% in the cruising and idle area so should be more fuel efficient on the highway a bit

Not sure how the turbine sizes compare from your old turbo, but new turbo is likely less restrictive to exhaust flow, meaning EGT's are gonna be lower. Also to mention the new exhaust manifold may be better flowing as well helping drop EGT's.... It's win-win all around.
it has the Pulsar 0.85 divT4, which should peak flow about the same as the Garrett G30 1.06 divT4, which is also ~equivalent to the peak flow capacity of the BW EFR8374 0.92 divT4. He has the option to upsize to the Garrett G35 1.06 divT4 for mid 500 - 600 whp.
It’s actually tighter than the previous one, which he was specifically wanting a faster low end spool. The difference is the efficiency improvement of the latest turbo technology. Inefficiency results in heat rather than work energy.
.
Figured out what was smoking, coolant lines were seeping when engine was hot. one night after a short drive, it took on fire so sent the car to the same shop to have them replaced and after 3 weeks of waiting to replace the 2 hoses, it still was leaking a bit and had to redo them again myself. The guy told me it was my oil line that leaked and cought on fire but i never saw oil on the turbo…anyway. They are all the same, unreliable, liars and always have reasons.
i had to remove my turbo blanket because it was damaged and seemed like it was soaked with either coolant or oil. Was easier also to put on the hoses without it and could see much better the leakage.
i was always concerned about my manifold and turbo glowing red hot after cruising in the past.
i went for a small drive, long enough to
make it glow, without the blanket and surprisingly, it didnt glow anymore. Guess the blanket really keeps the heat in the turbo and around it.
hope everything is now fixed, other than the crack in my front bumper the guy didnt tell me about. After i asked him, he told me it was there already… yeah, bullshit again
Sorry such the bad experience with the shop. That's why I have resigned to just doing all the work myself. I don't know how you mange to fit that huge filter on the turbo intake but great job I can't fit anything like that. For now, and on first start I plan to use a velocity stack bootie from outerwares https://www.outerwears.com/proddetail.asp?prod=202462
