Hey 61620-I actually have a FD tb on my cosmo intake, so the throttle cable is all set and the tb is ported and knife edge. I actually saw your tb on the rx7club yesterday-absolutely beautiful.
Now my real problem is that the damn lower intake doesn't clear the firewall. I cut it about 2,5inches and bumped the right hand side firewall with a mini sledgehammer. I got it on but there's no way the upper intake is going to bolt on so I have to think of something quick. The other thing I didn't like is that the oil pan is sitting kind of low-which is probably why mazda changed the oil pan design on the rx8. If I raise the engine I'll have an even bigger problem with the lim.
RX927-I actually didn't want to use the rew front cover(have 1). To tell you the truth I just don't like the cas. The other reason I didn't use it was because I'm using a mechanical oil metering pump which I've hooked it onto the throttle body.

great progress so far. i like what you did for the mounts. i hope you get past your hurdles soon.
are those Rx-8 coils?
this is the sole reason that my Rx-8 will most likely remain Renesis-powered. i have an REW sitting in my garage and about a year ago, i really considered porting it and putting it in my Rx-8. however, i realized that the intake will never clear the firewall and i can't reconcile bashing or cutting it for clearance.

No, they're LS2 truck coils.

I was wondering about yours, it's so far back-I can't understand why it's like that. What happens if you have to remove the upper intake manifold for some reason? It looks like you'll have to dropped the engine down. I'm really just wondering-not bad talking or anything like that. BTW why didn't you install the a/c compressor?

i thumbed through your albums and i must say, i never noticed the body panels until now. it's awesome!
anyway, it's okay, i'm planning on using the REW for something else, not the Rx-8. besides, i'm not using the stock LIM. i don't know how much of a difference that makes, but ...
Dznutzuk, what's the update? have you found your LIM yet?

It's somewhere in the mail unfortunately along with some other little parts. Hopefully it'll come sometime this week before New Year's day. I'm also waiting for my custom made clutch-pressure plate-exedy flywheel. I originally was planning on installing the FD transmission that I have laying around so I bought a Exedy Hyper Single which is a pull type, so I couldn't use it on the 8's transmission. Luckily I know a shop here that makes custom made clutch kits and they used the Exedy flywheel with a modified Valeo pressure plate and a custom 6puck disk.

Well my friend just brought over my new disk and pressure plate, looks pretty good-should have some good performance from it too. I like how he put a second row of springs on the pressure plate too.

Ok, so the intake manifold came in yesterday. I put the manifold on and everything is ok-clearance wise.
ps. Sorry about the bad lighting, I only had a small lamp and my phone doesn't have a flash...

I have to finish the exhaust manifold for the turbo and wastegate. Unfortunately since I'm using the stock Rx8 mounts there's no room to do individual runners to the turbo so I had to join them together into a single runner. Aah what the hell who cares if I lose a little power. That's how the other guys with 20b's did it.

Everything's coming along nicely now, hopefully going to finish the turbo manifold today-now that the turbo is mounted exactly where I want it.

Well, all the hard stuff is done. Manifold was a pain in the ***-especially since I don't have a tig welder(nearest one is about 60+60miles) so it takes time rig everything up and get it done. There's alot of little crap that needs to be done. I didn't take pictures of it-like the outlet from the waterpump to radiator, making sure the passenger side brake line is away from heat, the adapter from stock oil cooler line to the front cover(converting it to a banjo bolt). Today I have to finish the accelerator cable then the air conditioning needs to be modified to fit.

Ok that's cool fars I still debating on the rx8 transmission I have some that can rebuild it and change the gearing up for a little bit of nothing but I'm not sure how good it will hold for about 600hp+ I'll open up my own thread In a bit when I pull my have time to pull the engine
