Your website lists 10kg/7kg springs, but your first post still shows 9 and 6, which is it?

you can specify what spring rates you want.
10/7, 10/6, 9/7, 9/6... you get the idea...

mr. pockets likes the 10/6 combo- which is also the combo i have.
with this coilover, i shaved off 2 seconds from my last track day from the same track, with same tires, same mods, etc etc.
they are great coilovers.

NoOdLe BoY 07-07-2009 08:19 PM

^nice. may i ask what spring rates you previously had? and were they the Stance GR+ or a different coilover?

Alright so I made a video of how to setup the REAR RX8 coilovers. They have an unconventional design so I took the initiative to give you the basics.

Step 1: Reset all spring preloads
Step 2: Install on car
Step 3: Put car on ground and take baseline measurements
Step 4: Determine where you want the car to sit.

i.e. If car is ground to fender at 25" and you want 26", please note the 1" Difference or whatever the delta is on each corner.

Step 5: Put car back in air. Adjust front coilover lower brackets with their respective "delta" value. Meaning up or down 1", whichever direction. Since we're raising the car the bracket goes in a direction to "lengthen" the unit.

VIDEO WILL HELP YOU HERE" STEP 6
Step 6: REAR COILS: remove lower bolt so that the coilover has some room to drop the spring. you might need to remove a suspension arm to gain clearance. Remove spring, then loosen the small inner collar that remains so you can adjust the ride height/inner tube by 1".

Step 7: Once bracket is position and locked into place you can install the spring, washer, spring perch, and locking collar. Add the preload back to the spring.

HERE'S THE PROBLEM PEOPLE HAD AND NOW YOU MIGHT BE ABLE TO VISUALIZE IT:

1. WHEN YOU RAISE OR LENGTHEN THE REAR DAMPER, IT REMOVES PRELOAD FROM THE SPRING SO YOU NEED TO ADD PRELOAD BACK TO IT.

2. WHEN YOU LOWER OR SHORTEN THE REAR DAMPER, IT ADDS PRELOAD TO THE SPRING SO YOU NEED TO LOOSEN IT BACK TO NORMAL PRELOAD.

BY RULE OF THUMB FOR THE REAR YOU SHOULD ALWAYS REMOVE PRELOAD OR SPRING ALTOGETHER BEFORE MAKING THE HEIGHT ADJUSTMENTS. THEN BUT THE SPRING BACK OR ADD PRELOAD BACK AFTERWARDS.

The video is helpful, thanks Rishie! BTW, has stance corrected the reversed install of upper mounts for the rear coilovers? I know several others also had to remove these, reverse them 180 degrees and remount.

LEBREN

Apparently not, I just installed mine last week and the upper mounts were installed wrong. I didnt know this untill trying to push the coilover up and it would not go in the rear. But figured it out.

I thought I was the only one with this problem...guess not..

Not a big deal though, just had to take off the top bolts and switch it.

Endless Rotaries 07-08-2009 04:55 PM

Alright, so just made the call to Stance about the rear u/m. Hadn't heard about that issue until now. Hopefully it will get rectified internally before anymore drop ships.

rishie

Race Roots 07-09-2009 08:54 AM

Thanks Rishie

Endless Rotaries 07-09-2009 11:47 AM

Oh BTW,

I've also made the request for them to chamfer the "mini collar" to adjust ride height. i noticed it was a bit raw and edgy. Also trying to get them to make a "mini spanner" wrench as well. Will keep you guys updated.

Thanks, Rishie

Gotta be a change from the Megans? Yeah the swapping 180 degrees was no big deal, just loosen and flip. Rishie, a mini spanner would be great but dunno if it'd be worth $ increase.

These really are a great coil over for the loot!

Endless Rotaries 07-10-2009 12:49 AM

i'm expecting no extra cost. wink wink.

RX8YA 07-17-2009 04:21 PM

EDFC option ever on the stance gr+ i think it would be nice?

TopGear8 07-17-2009 04:34 PM

^Its not hard to adjust... Just get out of your car, turn the knob whichever way you want. Spending around $350 for EDFC is a bit lazy to me.

RX8YA 07-17-2009 04:42 PM

^<-----Guilty of the laziness not gonna lie. But your right ill get mine on this weekend and see how easy it is.

SiLVeRE8 07-27-2009 01:34 AM

I just purchased a set too but haven't received mine yet... I still dont really see what needs to be switch to make the rears fit... Can someone please help elaborate some more? Thanks!

SiLVeRE8 08-12-2009 01:39 AM

Finally got everything installed, tuned, and height adjusted! Now I just need alignment... Damn this took long, but it was all worth it!!! OMG what a difference! I can seriously say this was one of the best mods you can do for the 8

Endless Rotaries 09-20-2009 01:08 PM

Bump for Brice, another one available. Only one left though.
