your opinion counts! help with used purchase
hi guys, i'm looking to make a purchase hopefully within the next week or two, and i wanted to get your opinons on three vehicles i'm looking at. the links are at the bottom...
i'm hoping for a car around 15~16k...and all these vehicles has its pros and cons..i'm currently in norfolk right now so the autotraders link is the only car i can personally test drive. but they all look to have clear carfax reports.
another thing, i've been noticing that many of the cars (not exclusively rx8's) that are posted on autotraders have asking prices that are below the TMV price on edmunds when appropriately equipped...why is that??? should i be asking the dealer to go lower on the prices still although it is appropriately pricded according to edmunds? this is my first rx8, would appreciate all your help, thanks.

It's really a pretty close call. They all have the GT package so that's the same (and good, because the features of the package are really nice to have). The last one has navigation while the other two do not, so decide if that's important/useful to you. The only other major difference is the two-tone interior. I personally think it's one of the nicest features of the car, but decide if that's important to you or not. The white one has just 1-color black interior, I think.
Other than that the last one has about 15K miles more on it than the first two. Since no one has bid yet on it, and there is a higher "buy it now" price, I would call the dealer and try to talk them down from that buy it now price.
As far as wear/tear on the engine, the most important factor is not mileage, but how it was driven and how well it was maintained. Get as much info on the service records and type of driving (city/highway) as you can. And I would seriously find out (if possible) from the non-dealer seller(s) how much they know about caring specifically for rotary engines. The answer will probably be "very little", but if you find that one of them was owned/maintained by someone who at least knows a little bit extra about a rotary's "needs", I would go with their car.
Good luck, you'll have a blast

They all do look pretty nice. And yes they are all 1-Owner vehicles. (I used my carfax for them all, only have a day or two left, if you want actual copies pm me your email asap.)
The last one VIN: JM1FE173540111795, still has the # 4206F VOLUNTARY EMISSION RECALL, to be taken care of. Not sure if you should be worried about whether or not is was cared for
The first one VIN: JM1FE173940106339, was best for service records. Has 18, and consistently in throughout its life. Much better than the other two.
The second one VIN: JM1FE173750157341, still has the factory bumper to bumper for another 23 months or 23k miles! It wasn't sold until august 8th or so of 06!
There's a lil background on them all. If I had to choose I would get the 05' with that warranty you'd be good for a while! And the white looks dam good!
Anyways good luck to ya! Hope you find the one you want!
