I'm beginning to wonder if they are finding problems on inspection. Supposedly they are doing 100% inspection to 'ensure customers receive a perfect car'. I'm beginning to wonder if they are checking for a manufacturing defect that needs to be corrected at port. My car has NO port-installed accessories and has been on US soil for over a month now. Something smells fishy...

Nah. I'm sure it's just Mazda has just been totally inept at organizing the preorder and rollout program. They probably aren't totally in control of the ports and trucking companys that are readying and delivering these cars. But still, the ports and trucking company's are working for or contracted by Mazda to perform these functions, so Mazda is ultimately reponsible for this roll out fiasco.

I'm personally sick and tired of hearing about people getting their cars that ordered months after me, some as little as a month ago! Not to mention that if you're a little flexible in what you want, you can walk in right now and buy one to take home today in certain places. While I sit here over 6 months after preordering, and well over 3 weeks after my car arrived in the Dallas port about 150 miles down the road, still waiting, extremely impatiently.

But what are you gonna do? I really want this car. If I have to wait another week, I'm probably gonna be actively looking to buy an allocation somewhere, even if it's not exactly what I want. Which means this whole preorder thing for me will have been for nothing.

This preorder/rollout debacle has been just plain !STUPID! on Mazda's part. Lucky for them they have good engineers who design and make a better than average product. Or I would bail permanantly from Mazda over this. I'm still tempted to anyway.

100% agree. Most people agree with you. Maybe it is time to start cruising around town looking for a simliar rx8 to the ones we ordered and buy them as walk-ins. I am sure we first will get hit with addendums and dealer preps, but a short conversation and a check should take care of that
