I am a previous 86 and 89 RX-7 owner looking at a 2004 RX-8 with 10k miles. What is your advise for things to look for in a test drive, vehicle check?

How much and what options? Clean title/no accidents? Color? Need more information.

Get a Carfax and if you're really paranoid have a mechanic check it out in your area. If you're in a big urban area, find out the rotary specialists in you area.

Personally, I would stay away from 2004's. Lots of glitches and fixes. Unless its dirt cheap, see if you can find a 2005+.

It is a Black GT with leather, Bose and NAV.

I own a 2004 and I have no issues with it at all, runs great. I would make sure to get all the reflashes done as required by the TSBs.

For $22.9K you should get a 2005. Check out Craigslist.org and cars.com and deal deal deal.

 

Thanks everyone for your comments. I was able to get the 2004 for quite a bit less after talking with the dealer. I am now a proud owner of a Brilliant Black RX-8!!
