Southern Cal 2004 Deals?

I'm in the market for an RX-8, and I'm trying to find out what kind of '04 year-end deals others have gotten in southern California, specifically in the San Fernando Valley and surrounding areas.
I'm looking for either a base model, or a base with sport package model, as I like the added safety the sport package offers drivers in terms of vehicle control, but don't need/want the leather or the sunroof that come with the Grand Touring models. Plus, I just don't want to spend the money for those features.
I've looked at the CarsDirect price for the '04's, but it doesn't seem like they are quoting a low enough price for what I would expect to pay this late in the year for an '04 model, especially given the $1,500 rebate that is available from Mazda. This may have already been covered, but I'm looking for the names of dealerships that have given good '04 deals to their S.C. customers. Any help or advice is appreciated.

I bought my 04 sport at Browning Mazda in Cerritos back in early November just before the rebates were offered. They were advertising $5300 off sticker and thats what I got. I paid $23100 which was about $3000 under invoice. Good luck.

I paid $25350 for a 2004 GT with Nav... Sticker $34025... But here in Cleveland I also added 4 snow shoes today (215-55-17 Mille Miglia Evo5's with Blizzaks) $1181 from tire rack. 12' of fresh powder and I blew past just about everyone! LOVE the car and can't wait til summer already...

Thanks

Thanks for your replies, guys. It looks like I may have found a deal I can live with.

If all goes well, I'm getting a red m/t with the sport package, spoiler, appearance package, and rotary accents for $25,534 plus tax and title. This is close to $2,000 under invoice. I'm not doing as well as you guys seem to have done, and I applaud you both, but I'm getting tired of looking, and the deal seems fair to me.

I've done a lot of driving today, including a stop by Browning Mazda, as per your recommendation, typer, where they also offered me a pretty good deal on the RX-8, although it didn't have the sport package, which I really want. The internet manager there seemed like a straight shooter, so I'm sorry they didn't have the car I wanted.

I'm looking forward to getting the car, and I'll let you know when it's a done deal. Take care.
