Back the week of Thanksgiving, I bought an 04 base 6spd with 9000 miles on it for 19,000$ which I thought was a great deal and I went for it. Well the dealer friend of mine just called me and they have an 05 grand touring wtih every option on it excluding nav.. it has 1,800 miles on it.. he is asking 23,000k for it.. however im a nut for black cars.. my current 04 now is black with 20% tint, its gorgeous. I drove the 05 and ofcourse I love it,, xenon lights, leather, sunroof (thats a biggie.. I had a miata for 8 years before I bought the 8 so I didnt realize how much id need a sunroof), and im also a sirius buff and having the sat built-in is awesome. Soooooo Basically if I trade even exchange on my loan, I will owe around 5000$ with tag/taxes/etc. Thats a pretty penny for a color im not too sure of, but a years more warranty/newer model, and about 10k less miles.

DEAL or NO DEAL?

Ive been crunching numbers for a while.. I looked around the country for black ones with similar miles, and I cant beat the price of his white one.. he is a close friend tho and selling it to me near cost. I was perfectly happy with my base black before I sat in that one and took it for a spin. My 04 has that annoying "normal" whistle at 3-4k rpm, and this one does not, plus for some reason the clutch in the 05 is completely tighter and has a lot less play. Hmm

Any info is appreciated..

well... 5 grand is about the cost of a Grand Touring Package. I guess it's your decision on whether color or the grand touring upgrades is for you.

I'd do it. I got the 04 base 6sp with most appearance stuff except the sploiler. I absolutely love driving it as much as I love looking at it. That said, if I were offered the deal you have been, I'd take it for the sunroof, nav, leather, and some other "extras" that I occasionally miss.

Oh yea, I recently saw a white for the first time in person and its a very sweet looking color. The pictures don't seem to do it justice.
