Post Pricing RX-8

Okay here are all the cost to the dealer and the hidden charges.
I do not know why the OPTIONS on the Manual Transmission are cheaper. Can someone help me here?

Invoice Price of Base Model with Automatic = 23794

Invoice Price of Base Model with Standard = 25180

MSRP Price of Base Model with Automatic = 25700

MSRP Price of Base Model with Standard = 27200

Appearance Option AT = 970
Apearance Option MT = 970

Sport Option AT = 1800
Sport Option MT = 1100

Touring Option AT = 3500
Touring Option MT = 2700

Grand Option AT = 4600
Grand Option MT= 3900

To figure out dealer price:

Base invoice price + options - holdback - rebates/incentives = dealer cost
Hold Back on the RX-8 is 3% of Base MSRP (2% on other Mazda's)

So if your buying a new RX-8 at MSRP the dealer is making Approx. $3440.00 + additional mark-up if the dealer has marked it up more.

I do not know about everyone else here but I do not want to give my money away on a 3440+ profit. I have done a lot of searching and request too. The best price I have got back is 26500 plus taxes and tags and a free RX-8 car cover so far on a Automatic with the sport package. I am still trying to lower this price. Anywhere between 1000 to 1500 over dealer cost I would consider a reasonable deal. So with that in mind ... get out there and start dealing if we all hold off they will start to deal better and stop marking the cars up over and above the already 3440 profit they have on them from the factory. If you feel you just need to give your money away. Drop me a line I will give you my address where you can send your extra money to me. Trust me I would really like more money!

At this stage in the game, I'd be very surprised if anyone got the 8 for much less than MSRP. Maybe later in the year or next year you could deal.

As for the 8 you got a price on....

1 - This dealer prob can't get rid of it since it's AT and many people are waiting for the MTs to arrive.

2 - This is prob their demo/test drive vehicle and has many miles on it already. The three at my dealer are ALL ATs and the red one I test drove had 150+ miles on it. I was going to inquire about the silver with nav, but my sales rep advised me to wait for the one I pre-orderd b/c in his words, "these cars are being pushed hard." Oh, not to mention all the scuff marks and scratches that are all over all three's interiors.

If I am correct about the car you were quoted a price on... I wouldn't want it.
