Arrow Prices for Used 04 RX-8

I've been reading this forum for the last few months and after much thinking, have pretty much decided on buying a rx-8 as my college graduation gift to me :D . I'll be working as soon as i graduate so ill looking to speend around 22-25K. I really wanted an Evo but the 8 is so much better to live with, among other things. . Anyway I've been looking around online for and 2004 RX-8 GT and maybe navigation, (dont really need it but would like it) and prob in Ti Grey or Winning Blue. Anyway i found several on EBay Motors listing at dealers selling in the low 20s, theres actully two on there now.... My question is whatt are people paying for used 8's.

Thanks

You should take a look at buying a new 04. Thats what i just did a couple of weeks ago and probably got a better deal than buying a used one. Between mazda's incentives, dealers trying to "dump" their 04s, and a better intrest rate, you probably should at least take a look at new. Plus you get your $500 college grad bonus, which is always nice.

I recently bought a demo from a dealer with 3000 miles on it, GT package, and they offered extra to me free oil changes and detailing for the life of the car. (Not sure if they do that for everyone, but it didn't seem like it) I got all that for under 25k. Plus i got the lowest intrest rate mazda offers (and i just graduated college too, so you should be able to get that).

So in my opinion i'd look at new before you jump on a used on. You might end up pay a tiny bit more, but you warranty hasn't started till you sign the papers and you'll be sure that the car was never abused.

Thanks alot, I hink ill defintly look into a new 04, after searching there are many leftovers in my area (Connecticut), but most are listed at there original msrp for over 30K, I'm assuming I'll have to contact the dealer directly and have a chat concerning the 8.
Thanks a million for your help

original msrp = jack sh*t

it's not even 2004 anymore, and if they think they can sell them for over invoice, remind them that they haven't managed to sell these cars yet for any price, let alone an inflated one, that's why they still have them there. You should be able to get an MSRP 30k for under 25 if you play it right

I'd recommend contacting dealers via email directly to the "internet sales manager." (Most dealers have them these days.) My, and others, experience suggests it's a more efficient and reliable way to get a quote in writing before "having a chat" with the dealer. Promises made during "chats" have a way of being forgotten during negotiations. A dealer unwilling to put an offer in writing is not one you want to deal with.

So I got a quote of about 27.5 for a 04 loaded with navi.... at bit pricey, so im assuming without the navi would be aroudn 25k. So i think ill look online for a used 04 with navi for under 25k.

BTW has anybody seen the 8s on eBay there are a bunch of good ones very low miles (under 8000) and navi and they havent been selling. weird...

From what others have said, 3-4K below invoice seems to be common for an '04 at this point in time.

Dealer used 8's probably have a rediculous reserve very near the "Buy it Now" $$. I saw the used 8 I bought on eBay and bought it directly. (Probably paid too much but I fell in love!)
