picked up the 8 tonight

Hey Guys I just picked up my 8 a few hours ago.It is a base 6 speed in nordic green.I love it so far.It is very smooth in the power delivery.I just need to get used to the clutch(my RX-7 has a lighter flwheel, and my diesel has a heavy *** flywheel),and the shifter for selecting reverse.

I leased the car for 2 years at 12k a year mileage wise.Payments are $309 a month,tax included,and I paid $1200 at signing.

The thing is these dealers are all the same with this "m" flash.I told the salesman specifically that I wanted it done before I picked it up.He told me that he thought it had already been done.I told him it had not.I did the brake pump test, and the oil press needle swept. Also I told him there was no sticker showing it had been done.He told me over the phone that service was doing it as we speak when I called him back later on.When I got there it hadn't been done.I was a bit pissed, and told him that it still needed to be done, and I had the TSB with me.He said that service was closed, and that if I were to bring it back for service that they would do it for me then"if it needed to be done".I should have told him to shove it,and that I would pick it up when it was done, but didn't.Why do these dealers not understand that the money to fix it isn't coming out of their pockets?

I am half tempted to let em have it on the survey, but the place did give me a sweet deal.I just wished they had listened to me.Why is it we all know alot more about these cars than the people selling them?

Well whatever I love the car so far,but I have noticed the gas gauge moving pretty quick.Would the M flash help this?I don't worry too much about the mileage but I did notice it moving in only 30 or so miles.

While the TSB says .3 hours to bill, I think it takes them much longer because few of the mechanics are trained to do the work.

Makes me wonder about the other TSB's that look difficult to perform as well.

Today, I got another call from a dealer (boy they really want to sell em). A good price, $800 below invoice. When I asked the VIN he told me 11775 (old build date). I asked him about the recalls and TSB's needed and he was clueless. He said one had been performed. But NOT the two required recalls. Its so pathetic that noone knows or seems to care about these service bulletins.

Man, I may have to go look at the 350Z or G35 if this crap keeps up.

Enjoy your RX-8

Check it out. My list shows all the other TSB's fall below 35537. PCM flash is all you should need.
