Interesting.....

No hint of '09 anything on MNA's website. I'd be suprised to see these before July. If memory serves me right, didn't the '04s start showing up around Memorial Day with Brad Barber taking first delivery? I think the first ones showed up here in Phoenix in late June of '03.

Weren't these numbers always just "recommended". It appears as though they may be a requirement now. Hmmm...glad thats what I'm using.

As for the no moon-roof option on the R3...rock on...leaving that option out must reduce unnecessary weight and allows the taller 8 owners to fit more comfortably.
Just read an article on the new 8 and it says its regular gas compatible now, with the draw back of less hp, something to do with a new knock sensor

one caveat to what i posted before. i am probably getting ahead of myself by saying "some time in the next 2 weeks" because that makes it sound like it could even be monday. its at least two weeks before week see them. im told still may but that may be 1st week june

Guys, 2009 RX-8 will be up on Mazdausa.com next week. Stay tuned...

I did get some seat time on the '09, and the steering feels better. Not as heavy as my '08 and more feedback. Of course, it's not as tactile as my Mazdaspeed Miata, but noticed the difference right away.

My 2006 "requires" it.

There might actually have been a new one in Arlington last weekend. I saw the new wheels and thought it was 1 40th Anniv. model, but it actually looked black from the road, instead of the dark grey metallic.

If it was in fact black, it must have been a 2009. Brown's in Alexandria had a nice 40th Anniv. 2008 model I looked over while waiting for my car. The color's nice, but black is actually flashier when it's clean.

Not sure if it has already been posted, but just a heads up, 2009 is officially on Mazda USA site now.

r3 navi?

Hello all,

So i am about 92% sure i will be getting an r3 around Jan, but it seems that they do not offer Nav on it. Every other possible option comes standard.
So my question is:
has this been validated?

Why would this be, there is no way a Nav is too heavy...

If it is, in fact, true - R3 with no navi but all the other goodness, or GT loaded?

Personally, it is not a deal breaker, but nav is nice, especially with the bose system tied into it. Thoughts?

I have the spec sheets for the R3 and have driven one (very nice by the way). I can confirm that the R3 does not have the Navigation System, not even as an option. The only model for which Nav is an option is the GT.

Well that's that then.
So what do you think regarding R3 V GT?
I would imagine i can still mess with EQ without the Bose connected to the nav screen...

'09 Red Interior Question

Has anyone seen the '09 red upholstery? I am wondering how it looks in person, and what color the headliner is. The '08's Cosmo Red on the 40th Anniv. Edition is awful. The '09 does look better in the photos posted here.

Damn, I'd like to get my hands on those graphite grey'ish wheels in rotary shape. Could degrade my OEM wheels to winter tires :D

Can someone refresh my mind on when the MY 2010 specs come out..
i.e....the paint and trim colors and specs..

Although I am not expecting much change in specifications I am looking to see what new colors will be "if any"..
Because of family circumstances I won't be able to buy my new RX-8 until early next year! 2009

Sup everyone, Im new to the forum. Just picked up my 2009 R3 last night. After just having an 05 350Z and 06 STI, this is a great car so far. I put on about 50 miles last nigt crusing around getting a feel for it. Quite a difference from the last 2 cars. I dont have to deal with the annoying turbo lag anymore =)
