New into Rotary.. questions!

Hey all.. im moving from a Mazda3 into a Rotary..

currenly looking at a 2004 RX8 GT 6speed.. its got about 79,000km

looks nice inside and out..

notice its got moisture inside the rear tail lights..

and when i remove the engine cover.. everything underneath seems oily..

just wondering what i should be watching out for when it comes to buying an RX8?

and how are the engine performance and maintance issues?

what do i need to prepare myself for.. as i already know its a lot of maintance..

but any input would be awesome!

THANKS ALL

dont quote me on this but just like a piston engine gasket seal.. our apex seals can be damaged.. so that could mean that the apex seal is in need of tlc..

oil is the main concern here.. keep up with proper oil changes.. but you will possibly need a couple pints added b4 the next oil change dependant on your driving..

i personally have not encountered any major problems..

but in the 04 models. the starters or alternator are crap.. also the igintion coils are POS too.. other than that, thats all im aware of.

but there are more educated persons on this site about the rotory..

also nice choice.. the rotary is like something youve never experiance though it lacks in torque its still amazing fun.. and you will fall in love once you drive it,,]

oh also the trannys are crap too.. as long as you dont beat on it you should be fine tho!

The moisture in the tail light is an easy fix. Mazda came out with an updated gasket for the tail lights. Are you buying the car from a dealership or private seller? The oem coils are known to fail early, but some people get lucky and they last a while. I can not comment on the oil without a picture. Have the person selling you the car clean the engine bay and see if the oil comes back or not. I would ask for all the maintance records. The rotary burns oil so every other gas fill up check your oil and add as needed.
