New 2006 RX-8

Hey Guys,

I'm looking to purchase an RX-8 and have come across a few 2006 models that are brand new and have never been titled. They are Grand Touring models and I'm trying to get an idea about how much they should go for. I've got an offer for 26.5K for a 2007 Grand Touring model locally.

Any ideas on what a fair price for a 2006 model is and negotiating tactics to get down to that point?

27-28k... being its never been titled (and therefore next to nil on mileage), i would only see maybe 4-5k knocked off the 2007 MSRP which is about 32k for the MT'ed gT

Caveney81,

Thanks for the advice, my issue is if I can only get 5K off the 2006 that put me at the same price as 2007. Why would I buy the 2006 if I can get a 07 that hasn't been sitting on a lot forever at the same price?

Am I being unrealistic to expect a 2006 to cost less than a 2007?

you should expect to pay less, but its got 0 miles, 0 owners, etc.. as long as the maintenance and upkeep for it sitting is done by a dealership, shouldnt be too concerned with that.

I would say that $2500 -$3k less then a comparable '07 can be had for in your area. That is of course if youa re a long term owner. If you are a short term owner, buy an '07.
