Need an opinion on price for blue

Im looking to trade in my old car and buy a used 04 Rx-8 6MT Blue. The dealer on cars.com location in Baltimore MD wants 24,995. here are the specs

2004
Winning Blue
Manual 6 Speed
Milage: 21,312

MS kit
Anti-Lock Brake System,Driver'S Front Airbag,Passenger'S Front Airbag,Rear Spoiler,Drivers Power Seat,Power Steering,Power Brakes,Power Windows,Power Locks,Console,Power Side Mirrors,Rear Window Defroster,Cruise Control,Intermittent Wipers,Digital Dash Instruments,Cd Player,Air Conditioning,Map Lights,Alloy Wheels,Sun Roof,Leather Interior,Bucket Seats,Tilt Steering Wheel,Am/Fm Stereo

I called the dealer this afternoon and he told me that 24,495 is just the employee discount price. Im going on wednesday to test drive it. I was wondering if this price is too high for a 21k mile car for an 04. If so how much should i offer. Im willing to go 22,000

I think it is too much, I went to www.kbb.com and I did trade in value for a 2004 RX8 (in my zip code) and it was just over 19K you should start around offering 20K if you want my opinion. The MS kit dealers will try to tack some additional value for resale but when you go to trade it in it will add not much more than a couple hundred bucks. Start low and see how motivated they are.

Just so you have an idea, I paid $23,850 for an 05 winning blue GT with 10.6K over the weekend. I am in So Cal. I wouldn't go more than 21K...

FWIW I paid $20,600 for an '04 winning blue AT sport pkg with 23k miles about a month ago from a dealer. I thought I got an okay deal...could have got a better deal from a private seller though.

I went to the dealer to take a look at that car. It was the most horrible experience i had in my life. No one jumped to help me. I waited to long for help. They were checking my credit even before i test drove it. The reason they didnt want me to test drive it was because they didnt want any more miles on it. They kept pushing me to buy it by asking what can i do to get you to drive this car out of this lot tonight! I told him i would take 8k trade in for my car and they sell me the car for 20,500. Guy went to talk to his boss and comes back and says he can do that. So i was about to jump on it and sign the dotted line. I ask to go see the car then. When i said i would take it, he then says ok so will you be paying 22,995 and trading in your car for 6k. I was like wait hold on! you told me 20k and 8k for my car and the guy said no my boss doesnt want to go any lower then that. I was like wtf you agreed to that. I then told him i dont think i want it then. He kept trying to keep me interested but i told them if they are gonna be shady like that i think ill take my buisness elsewhere.......

the car had a scratch on the hood,on the front bottom bumper, and a deep scratch on the rear. The previous owner was a smoker i can smell cigs. Also when i turned on the engine it chugged a little bit and i was like wtf. Sounds like the previous owner beat it to hell. One good thing about it was that it was fully loaded, had gps and leather seats. I was gonna buy it since it was fully loaded for 22,995 but the milage made me change my mind. Im gonna stay on the hunt hopefully a good deal pops up

Thats too bad, I would have not bought the car due to the scratches and the cig smoke smell even without starting the car. Next time ask them to put it in writing what you will be paying for the car and your trade in value before they pull your credit. Keep looking, you'll love the car when you get it.
