Well....

I've been looking around now for something that I can use as a DD.
I was using a 2004 Z06...but that now got the Felter' touch and runs twins. (890RWHP)
I then used a 96VR4... but the mod bug bit me again and it sits @ 689 AWHP

Although I could use both cars as a DD their ability to be driven and not have high repair costs is a bit on the rough side.

Also: I have a 115lb Rhodisian Ridgeback and the backseat is a + as she has a place to sit now.

Without getting too crazy can the Mazturbo or Greddy setup be used as a daily without a lot of upkeep issues? 300-340 WHP range.

I realize any boosted car is going ot have its issues I just don't want to be left without a DD once or twice a month.

Any advice from someone who has their 8 boosted and uses it as a DD would be great.

 

I think the majority of the boosted rx-8's are DD. You can't hit 300 with the greddy turbo unless you buy the MazdaManiac turbo upgrade, then you can go over 340 if you wanted.

As long as the tune is setup properly, it should be fine as a DD.

I must be blind or stupid because I couldn't find what I was looking for.

I don't know a lot about 8s, it seems to be 340WHP isnt really that much..even given the size of the car. Although I suppose thats plenty for a DD. (Not trying to go fast in a line either.)

340 is pretty fast for a rx8. but you're not going to be spinning the tires in 4th gear on the highway
