I need some hope, some consoling, some pep, some understanding, some positive thoughts and vibes....feeling a little bummed even though my car should...key word....SHOULD....be here next week. I need to talk. Anyone up for some positive, encouraging talk about my car? I can't imagine if I were waiting since January....how did you all do it? I am a wimp. Hmmmmm......let's see what wonderful people RX 8 owners are. I know you guys are great.....give me some lovin! I am female remember so don't hold back! heehee- I spent all my time on this forum and pissed off my husband because all I could talk about was my car. I feel your pain- the last couple week are the worst- you know your car is in port/in-transit, and it's enough to drive anyone insane. Just think about how you'll feel in a month, after you've been driving it for three weeks- I just kept telling myself over and ever that "this time next month I'll be driving my car" and it helped a little bit!

Yea.....my hubby thinks I am obsessed.....well, I am I admit. I do say to myself....."In a week I could be driving my RX 8!" I keep thinking it will be late or something. I keep waiting for the phone call from my dealer. I emailed Mazda today for a final update. Thanks. Gee, I hope I sell my car this weekend....that's the other issue so i guess it's good the car is not here yet!

I didn't have to wait long for mine but the cost was higher due to that.

I know what it feels like to wait for something though.

Trust me when I say you will not be dissappointed and you will laugh at all this when you get your great rx8!!!

Nothing sucks more than seeing tons and tons of cars sitting there on dealers' lots begging to be sold when yours is stuck in transit somewhere. The one time I ordered a car, I ended up buying a different one from another dealership who had one sitting on the lot a full month before my ordered car was due to arrive. The lesson I learned from that experience is to never order a car again. :D

In other words, if the waiting gets to be unbearable, just go across town and buy one off the lot. It's not like your dealer is going to be stuck with a vehicle he cannot sell... Alternatively, you could ask your dealer to get a car for you from another dealer - dealers trade cars amongst each other all the time. But either way, there's a quick end to your suffering if you want it. :D

I have looked at other dealers for the exact car....there was one early on but I needed to sell my car first! I did not think it would take so long to sell my car........it is still available! So, in a way it is a blessing in disguise. Maybe I will sell it this weekend. It was tough to find a Silver auto w/red blk....out here it seems they are all stick shift. I don't want to settle for less than what I trully want cuz then I will be mad I had no patience. Thanks guys.

Okay, here's what you do. Go to bed very early every night and sleep as late as possible, take a lot of naps. Time goes by a lot faster when you're asleep. You could also go see a lot of movies when you're awake, it will take your mind off the time.

Good luck!! And keep in mind you'll have yours a month before I get mine. So my heart bleeds......!!!!!!!!!!!!:p

BTW, at least you have your old car to drive. I sold my 944 Turbo, so I've been driving a '95 Mercury Mystique (pronounced Mistake), that we borrowed from my in-laws, for the past 2 months!! Now that sucks!!!!

Hmmmm....sleep. That's something I don't get much of . I have a 4 year old son with Autism. He's up two to three times a night. It's a challenge having a son with a cognitive delay. The RX 8 will be a treat for me. I love to drive and when I am alone I am going to take her on some fun twisty, country roads to de-stress! My son seems excited about the "zoom, zoom" car too! Ok......week 3 is upon me.......I will try to be patient and try not to wait for the phone to ring....yea, right! RX 22....I will keep you posted! I feel your pain....I think we all went or are going through it........I never had such a longing for a car this bad!!! Thanks all!

cruzdreamer, I know about sleep depravation, too. I have a 5 yr old and 3 yr old twins.......I haven't slept much either over the last few years. The 8 will be my escape too. My favorite car ad was for a Boxster, that said "the more kids you have, the more it makes sense" or something like that. Keep me posted. Hang in there.

Ok....now it's due next week. I was told the week of October 26th to be delivered to my dealer. I hope this is it. I was thinking I'd get it near Halloween anyway. So....another week or so to go!!! Well, more time to try and get the car sold. I wonder how many times I will say that!?

ok....last week passed...no sign of the car. Now they are saying this week. We shall see. Gosh, my excitement has really gone down a bit. I feel bummed more than excited these days. I just want this whole thing over with. Argh! TRICK OR TREAT????

Same for me my car, they said this week it's been in Michigan port for 2 weeks already (Oct 14) They were going to wait for the all weather floor mats until delivery but the owner of the dealer just called them up to send the car right away and he'll get my floor mats later. Yeahh hopefully by the end of this week

You can ask them where the car is. They usually have a tracking for the car being on the ship or at the port side or with the central Mazda garage - if it is at the garage then it is a easy matter of putting it in priority for delivery.

Mine touch down last Friday and put down as priority to deliver this Friday. Mazda usually do final testing before sending it to the dealer. Then they do a 24 hour pre delivery (mainly cleaning).

I will call my dealer tomorrow......last they said that they don't know when the truck will actully deliver it. Titaniumrx8....thanks for message earlier...also, mine was in Michigan since the 22nd of Sept. So, not sure why it's taking so long. So are you saying they can get more specific to find out when the truck can make delivery??? Takahashi....note: my car was already at port last month..said they use outside trucking co. for delivery so can't really track it after that. Is that true? Thanks gang.....trying to get excited again.

At least it's close... Have them send someone to get it! Michigan isn't that far from where you live (I grew up in Crete...do you know where that is?)
