My deal on a new 07 RX-8
2007 Rx-8 GT with some added options like spoiler and air vent accents.
8 Miles on it (I guess from test drives)
Sticker price $32,465
Walked (taxes and everything in) for $23,300 (and I got a "free" custom car cover)
They were willing to negotiate a lot more once I said I was paying in cash.

Huh, that's funny, becuase by payign cash ALL you ddi was cut off other places they can profit form a car deal. ALL deals are cash to dealers, banks pay them OVER 100% of the ammount financed within roughly 72 hours.

If your one that can pay all up - sweet, I'm jealous, but sweet!!!
Sounds like a good deal to me, no worries of monthly payments AND fuel costs!
Now, the burning question - what's your first planned mod!!??

Cash does NOT talk in the car business. The LAST thing you should tell a dealer when negotiating price is that you are payign cash. I am 100% confident that if you even alluded to financing that they would have given you at least an additional $1-200 off.
With that car sitting on a dealer lot for nearly 24 months I would require a full fuel system flush, coolant flush, a new battery, and would look very closely at the tires for dry rot. You should probably also change all other fluids as they could easily have accumulated condensation during its stationary phase. In case you didn't realize, I'm not big on purchasing holdovers as they can be a lot to deal with. Your brakes will squeak for a couple of weeks while the oxidation wears off, btu that will go away.

man...I would kill for a deal like that. Even a year ago finding 24.5k was the best I could do for a well equipped GT, now...I can't even find the color/options I want, not to mention price haha. I feel stupid for having waited :/

I have yet to do any modifications/personalization to my 8 - but I'm told from members on here one of the first suggested mofications would be a Axial Flow Short Throw Shifter - it's a manual right?
