Massachusetts Potnetial Owner Question
I am going to be looking at a few RX-8's in the greater Boston area over the next week and was hopeful that someone on the site knew what the best Mazda dealership in the area is to get a compression test done.
To give you a little background on myself I currently have a Toyota MR2 Spyder (4 years now) and am very handy with a wrench. I enjoy driving cars that are different from all the boring vehicles that normally crowd the roads. I enjoy a fun car over a fast car although I will go to a track a couple times a year to show how fast I can be.
I want another fun car to drive around in the warm weather and the RX-8 looks very appealing to me. Compared to the MR2 it has 4 seats, 4 doors, and a trunk where my MR2 can only hold me, another person, and sometimes a small bag. The new buyers guide has been a great resource and this looks like a great community that is very helpful and knowledgeable. I look forward to positively adding to this community in the future.

Where do you live in MA? I just bought my 8 from a guy in Springfield and I used Balise Mazda/Lexus in West Springfield to do my compression test. They also printed all service records since new and the Mazda of North America documentation on the car that included build date, ship date, date of port of entry, sale date, and all recall and warranty info. Good guys.

Liberty Mazda in Wakefield MA is by far the best dealer around. I take my 8 there, and I'm 90 min away in Providence.
It's also one of the few stand-alone Mazdas around. The rest are all multiple brands in the same property, and so their mechanics are largely non-Mazda and even less clueless than usual. Liberty's mechanics are quite good, and at least two of them own rotaries.
