Looking to Buy - Good Deal?
Hi all. New to the forums. Looking for some feedback on a couple of used RX-8s I'm looking at picking up this week.
First:
Blue 05 RX-8 GT 6MT with Nav, Appearance Package, and 19K miles from a private dealership. Have it listed for $14k on the internet. I started at $12K and got them down to $13.3...won't go any lower, they keep saying "its already $3200 below wholesale."
Total OTD is around $14.4. KBB says retail value is $19K+ and PP value is:
Excellent -$17,400
Good - $16,600
Fair - $15,550
Edmunds TMV says:
Dealer Retail - $17,300
Private Party - $15,900
Trade In - $14,344
Seems like a great deal to me....
Second:
Silver 04 RX-8 GT 6MT with Appearance Package and 66K miles from a private dealership. Have it listed for $13k on the internet, right around "good" KBB Private Party Value and $300 over Edmunds TMV Dealer Retail. They said they might be willing to do $11K +TTL. Weary about this one because can not be sure all the recalls and TSBs on the 04s were done on time.
Appreciate your input. Thanks!

The 05 Blue GT seems like a pretty good deal to me, definitely go for the lower mileage one. Call Mazda customer service with the VIN and verify all the recalls were done on time to see if it was well taken care of.

The Blue one sounds like a very good deal to me. I just purchased a 05 Base with sport packge for $13.5 with 33k miles.
Have you looked at the car and run the vin through carfax? If you post the VIN I can check it out on carfax for you.

Blue one was sold out from underneath me.
Now I'm looking at a Gray 04 6MT Sport with 33K miles. It is one owner lease return. I might actually go for it over a GT since I don't really need all the extra stuff. CARFAX looked good and car was pretty clean with the exception of a few minor knicks and scratches here and there. Test drove it and all seemed good. Oh, whats up with the condensation in the tail lights?
If I can get it for $12K OTD, a little less that $11K sale price, think that's a good deal?
