Just sitting there...

I am seriously considering trading my 2007 Honda Civic Si in for a 2007 RX-8 at a local dealership. The only thing is the RX-8 has been at the dealer for over 9 months and barely moves. I'm worried that the engine might have suffered damaged or be full of gunk from sitting for so long. Any thoughts? Thanks.

I'll look into the extended warrenty! They dealer wants my car plus $4,000 for the RX-8. I think that's a lot! They've had the RX-8 for almost a year and my car has about the same retail value...

It's a well known fact that RX8's grow Gunk like weeds in your yard when sitting.

The motor becomes damaged because its not being used.

A simple Automotive classs will teach you wonders.

Dealers want to make money.

I figured a rotary would be similar to a piston engine when it comes to sitting around and filling with sludge. I just wasn't sure if it would be worse or not. Thanks for an honest response. I'll stay away from that car.

Before I completely write off this RX-8, is there anything I can do to counteract the potential engine damage from not being used?? Thanks

Probably seafoam it... it'll remove the carbon inside. I'd ask the dealer for a compression test beforehand though, if possible.
