Today I bought an used 2004 RX-8 from Arlington Mazda (VA, DC area). It had 7000 miles on it, and they told me it was a special one-year-lease vehicle. Carfax confirmed this. They told me that these are usually given from Mazda to some company to use for just one year, although they didn't know any more details.

Anyhow, to me the vehicle is completely indistinguishable from a new one, except for the lack of new car smell. Everything on it was immaculate, which I think was partially because the vehicle had been leased.

Here is the price point, in case this helps anyone. It was $24K, an it is a titanium, with the Grand Touring package, 6 CD changer (not sure if that is part of GT). I think it was a pretty good deal; quite a bit off the new price, and just as good as new to me.

 

Sounds like a good deal.
