interesting.....

....so I am signing all of my paperwork at the dealer last night (yay!) and I asked about getting the clear bra application (3M scotchguard stuff). The manager said that he doesn't believe in dealer-installed protectants and in general it is a ripoff for the customer - I should invest in a good wax myself and get used to doing it myself.

My jaw dropped! (Gallo Mazda in Worcester, MA)

My goodness, an honest dealer.

One of our local Mazda dealers puts $599 paint sealant, $299 fabric protection, and if leather interior $299 leather protection (in addition to the fabric protection) - on every car on the lot. ~ $1,200 worth (less) of stuff - that probably costs him maybe $100?

I'm shocked at the honesty as well. One dealer told me, that "no matter, what model you decide on, you should get this." Just for me, just for one day only, he was going to offer this $1200 package for half price because he liked me. Since we were best buds and all, I asked if I could get the car for half price as well. All of a sudden, we were not such good friends (and maybe he didn't like me anymore--I hate it when that happens).

Needless to say, I can add what they did for $30, and will.
