8 Rx-8's show up for GTA meet!

I know some of the guys have been getting together for a while now. This was my first time out and 8 cars with about 10-11 members (+girlfriends) showed up.

We had ZommZoom (Blue GT), myself (Blue GT) Roadrunner (Tit. GT), Wing, all the way from Ottawa (Red GS), Actonite (Silver GT), Andrew (Silver GT), Pete (Yellow GS with a new rear spoiler from Japan), Ron_Jeremy (Black GT) also 73JPS (who came right from work w/o car) and member Smoker. Great to meet everyone!

Lots of pics. We'll post tomorrow. We had a few beers and munchies. Next time it will hopeully be during the day, and we can all go for a good drive together.

BTW guys, after talking about oil consumption my light came on while at 145 on the 401! When I backed off it went out. Didn't come on again. I'll have to check into that.

Also check the post in "Dyno day' from Canzoomer. Interesting.....

Pete's yellow GS with his new spoiler. He got it from Japan, cheaper than through a dealer. Contact him for more info.

Notice the sticker on his back window!

Not a good picture, too dark.
But, I've included it because Ron_Jeremy has arrived.
Count, 8 sets of plates!

Thanks for the pics!

Thanks for the pics, Rotorian. Since I put a (small) amount of effort into helping get everybody together, I really felt like a Boob for not being able to make it until 9:20, and without my car to boot!

I just want to say I wish I could have got there to meet more of you, and I'm really pissed off that I didn't 'cause it looks like it was a great time. But who would've thought it would be SNOWING in Calgary???

P.S. Nice spoiler, Pete!

The meet was a great turn out. I was happy to see that we could get a shot of every colour all togehter at once. It was nice to finally meet some more rx8 owners and hear about there experiences with their 8 is so far. We have to wait on Wing to post some more pictures for the rest of us to enjoy.

I'm starting to think one more meet before we get hit by the white stuff. Lets put a date together so that was can get more 8's and cruise on the HWY.

thanks for the compliments in regards to the spolier LiQuiDLaM and 73JPS

Cheers

I'm here I'm here! :D

Because I'm an idiot and couldn't remember how to get the remote on my camera to work, the late ones when Ron_Jeremy finally showed up are a little blurry. But not too bad.... I guess. With a shutter open for 10 seconds it is hard to keep the camera straight if your touching it.

Anyway, I am currently trying to crop them and compress them to fit in the limit.

I'll start posting.

Cool

A couple of the RX-7 guys were thinking of showing up just to see the rest of the colours.
But the majority of us still haven't got our cars in working order.

If you guys do get together again, make sure it's near the end of the month or mid Oct.

I know a couple of the RX-7 guys were thinking of setting up either a cruise, track day, or just a last meet before the white stuff begins to fall....

Pete, that's the the spoiler I would have ordered if I was getting an RX-8. But I wouldn't stop there. I would definately order the side air rakes, the rear rotary cresent with the fog light, and I would figure out a way of getting the Mazdaspeed bumper for the front.

I'm surprised none of the other RX-8's have any accessories on them.... Oh well....

Later,

THanks Neo,

I'm still adding accessories during the winter when it's stored. In this order

1. Boomerang 2 Car Alarm System
2. Crests on the front and rear with the Red Gem
3. center rim caps (rotary)

The MazdaSpeed front spolier will come with time, and I actually think the side air rakes won't look good on the yellow. Anyone got pictures of it on a yellow ?

Wish I could have made it. Would have been nice to have two yellows with identical spoilers.

My daughter started her labour as you guys were getting together. She delivered a baby girl for us today, our first grand-child. I may have to change my name from Bull-dog to Grand-pup.

Nice pics...

Thanks Jasper.

I'll pass that on that on to my daughter and see what kind of reaction I get. They called their little 9lb 7oz girl "Ella", but maybe they'll change their mind when they hear Renesis...

Bulldog: I seen you're car at 5points mall on Tuesday (you have a personalized plate right? "B*** Rx8". Looks good. I see you opted to get the rotary crests too huh!
I seen a guy in a Mazda6 checking your car out but don't worry, he didn't touch it.

Bulldog: which dealer did you get it from? how was the price/service. Reason I'm asking is cuz I'm debating on where to go to order one. Whitby mazda says they have one more spot open for an order that will Deliver in Jan. but I'm more concerned with service and price. I don't want to get an 8 b4 the winter is over. I'm looking at getting one for March Delivery.
P.S. - congrats on the grandchild!

BTW: I'll make it out to the next meet in my rx7. Hopefully it'll be soon, as I'm going to be putting it away soon.

Thanks MyRxBad. Yeah, that's my car. The Bulldog on the rear deck would also have given it away.

As you could tell from the license plate, I bought it in Brampton. Happened to be slated for the owner, but he changed his mind on the colour. I was very fortunate in getting it. I happened to be the first one in Ontario to get one. Price of course was not a factor as their was no negotiating going on.

JP & George at Brampton were excellent to deal, and the dealership looks pretty good for service. I'm still toying with where to service it though. Ajax and Whitby are a lot closer and convenient than Brampton.

I've asked for the service manager to check a couple of things out for me like winter wheels, front mat, cycling A/C, and oil level light coming on at high speeds. These are items all of us on the forum are aware of. He was not aware of these, and I have not heard back from him on them. I may go to Ajax and ask the same questions and see what kind of response I get prior to my first service visit. Like you, I am concerned about the quality of service.

Jasper, talked to my daughter about this. No go after quite a bit of laughing. I might start to work on the middle name though.

Ella Renesis... that could work!

BTW, I was talking to my dealership yesterday about the oil pan issue. They hadn't heard anything about it, but after they talked to Mazda Canada they called back and told me they'd be bringing in a replacement oil pan. I had the oil light go on and off during a highway drive last week.

And they should have your replacement floormat by now. I got mine put in a week or so ago.
