I want to buy a RX8!

hey everyone.. I just went and looked at a 04 RX8 6speed.. they are asking 18k and it has 29k miles.. does that sound like a bad deal? the guy said it had all the options except the Nav package..
I am thinking about going back tomorrow and picking it up if it seems like a good price.. the car looks awesome.

Check around the internet to see what average prices are for used 8's to make sure you are not paying too much. Be aware that the 8 comes in three trim levels as well. $18K might be a high price for a base model, but could be a good price for a GT.

I think its a very good price if its in good shape, meaning no dents, scratches, etc. Now go and buy it. :D

How can I tell what model it is?? I know it has the traction control, leather seats, electric driver seat, seat heaters, electric sunroof, auto dimming mirror with the homelink buttons.. stereo buttons on steering wheel, and I think I have the bose speakers, and the xenon headlights.

I was looking online and it looks like I have the grand touring package, but that is on the 05s so Im not sure if it was different for the 04s.
Thanks

You got a pretty good deal bud... I've been eyeballing ebay lately and ones similar to yours have gone for low $20's.

Nice score. You're about $3,000 under KBB.

The car was actually listed at 27k for quite a while.. they dropped it down to 18,600 because they say they just wanted to sell it because it had been sitting there for a while.. I know that is a pretty big decrease so I was skeptical myself.. oh well, I think everything is alright.. and I bought an extended 3 year 36k mile warranty on it from the dealer so I think I should be alright.

just outta curiosity, what kind of warranty do they come with from the dealer? I know my car is still under factory warranty, but for how long? I am still under 30k miles..
thanks!

Factory warranty is 4 years 50,000 miles. So you really just bought yourself a 15,000 mile warranty. Probably not worth what you paid for it, since they charged you for more than twice that many miles.

Unless the warranty was cheap (under $400) you might want to turn it back in for a refund. You can always buy an extended warranty later. If Mazda's like other manufacturers, they will sell a factory extended warranty as long as the car is still covered by the original warranty. That warranty would only kick in after the 50,000 miles mark, and be priced accordingly.
