How Im getting my 8 for such a good price (I think)
Well I first went to Edmunds.com to look up the invoice prices of the car.... I took it down and all, and added a few hundred bucks to the price (about 500 bucks) with all the options etc that I wanted... and took it to my closest dealer, told him that a dealer a bit farther gave me that quote, and I told the salesmen Im here for a price BEATING not a match or anything else but literally a BEATING. He instantly gave me the car for 100 over invoice (and actually gave me a copy of the invoice that matched edmunds.com prices) Im working on getting other things thrown in by the dealer, maybe an even lower price. He also gave me lifetime oil and filter changes, and made an agreement with him that the service dept. would change my tires (from summer to winter) any time I chose. I believe I did pretty good, any input?

Well its funny how the lifetime oil change came up, I doubt they offer it to all customers, and I found out that the other dealership i had mentioned doesnt provide it, as soon as I said the other dealerships name the ball game totally changed, he didnt want to let me go, remember you need to play a car salesmans own game, and make sure your smarter (which I think I am) and make sure you win.

Sounds like a decent deal and to some extent I believe when all benefit it creates good karma. BUT...at the same time I myself wouldn't pay invoice, I'd start at about 1500 under invoice (generally speaking). The dealership and salesman have various incentives that make invoice a good deal for them. They are not paying invoice to get the car on their lot. And even if they do they get incentives that ultimately works out in their favor.
These days with the internet and info available to buyers, unlike in the past, dealerships have to be a step ahead in other ways.
Just my opinion though, I'm sure others will see differently. When I've been over at the dealership picking up parts for my FD, I usually like to see what they have on the lot 8 wise. The stickers are a laugh to me because when I'm ultimately in the market for an 8...I don't see them getting near MSRP from me and I'll be willing to travel wherever to get the right price.
Good luck

Good Job man! You did your homework. I got free service and free tires for the life of the warranty. Plus I saved about 1500 bucks. All the other dealers in my area wanted atleast 1500 more. This was back in August though.

You certainly one upped me on that one. I got 100 over invoice on mine, but I only get first oil change free. The oil change is where you really struck it rich. Add up a lifetime of coil changes, and do the math. SWEET INDEED. These cars are getting cheaper and cheaper, and it won't be long before you see them all below invoice and then some. I am in NJ PA area, and this area is overstocked with them, and they are desparetely trying to get rid of them to make room for the 2005s coming out this summer. I found one for $100 under edmunds invoice, but it was missing options I wanted like navigation, and rear wing spoiler, and I had to pass on it. For those of you looking to buy one in a couple months, you may be in for the steal of a lifetime. NICE JOB!!
