jesus - okay go on a 350Z forum and ask the same question... its painfully obvious that each forum will answer for THEIR car.

Go take a test drive... jesus.

For something as big as a car purchase I would have assumed each person would figure out what THEY Want and not the opinions of others. Since its your money, and your *** in the seat YOU have to figure out what you want to buy.

Flip a coin. That is about how close the 2 cars are. Each has its own + and - .

HHMMMM lets see if you want a biased opinion then I say 8 all the way, but you should be old enough to make that decision on your own right? I play basketball, and its like me going to footlocker and asking the sales guy "hey what shoes should i get the lebrons or the d wade"

I have a '06 RX-8 and my brother has a '06 350z. He got his car before I got mine so I know how it drives. I think they are both great cars that offer a lot of performance for the money. Each has its strengths and weakness. These are my opinions and as you know opinions are like a$$holes, everyone has got one.

350z:
Torque!
Handles well but is much more punishing than the 8. If you've got bad roads then you're gonna feel it. Even if you like a stiff suspension you're gonna find some stuff rattling on your car after less than a year. Just doesn't feel as tight and as well put together as the 8. I don't know if its build quality or a by-product of the suspension.
Did I mention Torque?
Limited storage space.
More power and better gas milage than the 8.

RX-8:
Bone stock it is one of the best handling cars I've ever driven.
Rotary engine, love it or hate it. Winding it up to redline puts a smile on my face.
Practicle and yet very sporty. Best of both worlds.
Poor fuel economy, if its a big deal for you look elsewhere.
Limited aftermarket support compared to the 350z. If you want to go mod crazy you'll find more parts available for the Z.

If you don't need a rear seat, get the 350Z.

I'm disappointed that it took until the 5th post for someone to mention that.

crossfire not my type of car bit oddd, but to each own taste.
I drove Z and was not too impressed( excluding the new modles with 300hp) dont know about new ones but if i did not have need for rear space I would have gotten a Z.

RX8 is more unique car to me and its not by any means ment for every person.
So Far I love my 8 if I did not I would not have gotten one
My 02 Cents

The choice for me was g35 vs. rx8. I prefer the rx8. But that's me, test drive them yourself.

If I had the dough, I would own both, but I have an 8, so you can guess my preference.

Very good comparison, one of the better ones. I own both cars, I agree with almost everything he said except the Z handles just as good as the 8. It just feels different. Z is like a hockey player, 8 is like a figure skater.

You do need a new kidney if you drive the Z for too long.

Well put mate and I totally agree...

Yes I am bias, a mate I know traded a Z for and 8 last year, as he says Mazda's overall finish and quality is just that much better, he (like most of us here who have owned or own rotaries) just loves the sound and Smoooothness of the Rotary engine, the RX-8 is far more practical, the Z is a lot harder to live with, physically....on the backside...as Richard said to me.. they become tiring.

But hey mate, if you have driven both, you should be able yo make up your own mind..Just remember YOU have to live with your choice day after day,.no one else,
they are both great cars.

Sorry, but how anyone can suggest a Crossfire and these 2 car in the same breath....???...from a world-wide perspective EVERY reviews outside the US totally cans the Crossfire (as a drivers car and quality) and is never recommended if your are considering an RX-8 or Z.

OMG 350. it's way better than our cars, we just come to the forum everyday just to talk about how lame our cars are

Yes, the 8's engines are unique.

and yes there are many ways these cars differ. just depends on how mature you are about cars. To me, the 8 is more of a mature car. Fast on the track, not on the streets. Unless of course you've got deep pockets for FI or 20B upgrade (for the newb: a 3 rotor engine, rather than 2 which is stock)

A test drive, like everyone else is agreeing, is your best bet - or what you want the car for. The women seem to love the 8s looks, and you've got room for her and her friends

Take your pick.

I know we can't all spend 14 hours a day surfing this forum like me, but you seriously must have noticed the cult status that the Crossfire has attained on this site.
