Group Letter From Pre-orders
Who thinks it might be a good idea to hammer out a letter of complaint regarding the pre-order program. Crappy info, not enough of the promised emails, dropping standard options in the car (changer, climate control) and most importantly the fact that they don't give up crap if pre-order people wait while others walk into a dealership and drive away in 30minutes with one. This was not accepted with the 350Z, G35, MINI or the H2 !!!!!!!!!
It is the equivalent of line jumping on the pre-order list. No point to make an orderly line if the line holders don't play by the rules.

But see you have one to be happy with. There are still many who do not. Went to my dealer today and he flat out said he'd be getting a non pre allocated car before mine!!
I'll sign your letter!

I just don't know.. I have a theory about the Ford influence on Mazda and a complaint letter might be what somebody wants to show that the program doesn't work.
I think we should be happy that the pre-order program exists and maybe hit them with a "thank you" + "constructive criticism" letter.
YMMV!

Good job Herc. Get the adresses for Ford as well. If they are posted here we should all send at least a copy of this letter.
After reading this it makes one realize just how easy this could have been. There really only has to be one message (E-mail or letter) with the order or some reference number and the web address to the database to track the info. They would only have to update the information in one location and not ever have to send another E-mail after that. The web page could also contain links to all the car reviews and or copies of them as well as photo galleries etc. It should be seperate from the regular Mazda page to aid in response time and ease of maintaing it.

I read the letter Herc. Very nice. Way too long though (they won't read it). And their might get bogged down in the minor details and miss your well made major points. I seriuosly implore you to shorthen your comments. Also, my main beef with them is that they are just using pre-order as a way to make quick sales to easy-to-sell customers rather than using it as a red carpet program for elite, serious buyers. It is unacceptable that dealer inventory is fulfilled prior to allocation cars for loyal mazda fans who have been on the list 1/8 - 3/8. That should be are biggest point, then other issues of emails etc can be qucikly enumerated. I agree with you that you did not start bitching about the AC and CD changer, but I would mention that the pre-order guys had to endure changes in the vehicle (spare, changer, AC, key etc, HP questions, colors, etc) with loyalty --- it is now their turn.
What do you think?

Count me in
Tomorrow will be one full month since my car (1058) landed in California. In the meantime cars with lot highter VIN's are being delivered back east. The Mazda rep generally does not return my dealers calls, and when he does, he gives erronoous information. At first the car was to be delivered June week 5 (week of June 30). Then it was loaded on a transport last Friday, then Saturday. Today the dealer was told the car was loaded yesterday, and should be here today (did not happen) or tomorrow (not holking my breath. Frustrated to the point of cancelling and getting something else of fixing up hte 88 vert. Mazda simply did a great job of aleniating prior loyal Mazda people. Even if I get the RX8 (my 9th Mazda) no more.

Probably should remove the "On behalf of the members of RX8Club.com" part, since it is not from all of the members of this forum, only a select few. You may offend those with different views than yours.
