Got an offer on a 08 GT for 30k. Good offer?

They would have no reason to go at or below invoice on an '08. Anything under $1k over invoice is a fair deal at this point in time. If you can do better then that, and find that's a better val8e then what they will do on an '07, by all means go ahead.

Let me ask you this then;
Would you pay 28k for 07 GT or 30k for 08 GT?
Sounds like the Mazda rebate that they were offering doesn't apply to the 08 model. That's what I figured and it's the reason I tried to find what I wanted in an 07 model. It almost didn't happen though, there's not a lot left to choose from in the 07's.
Mazda rebate + what the dealer knocked off was about $4400 off the sticker.

If there is $2k difference, it's mostly up to your ownership habits. If yoiu plan to keep this car for three years or less, buy the '08. If you plan on keeping it longer, buy the '07. For the first three years, the '08 will be worht at least $2k more, then about 7-8 years from now they would essentially have the same value based on identical mileage and condition.
I finally found the color I prefer for an 07 model w/ the appearance package. They have to ship it from a dealership south of the state border. The price is 26k plus tax. MSRP was 33k. I will find out within the next few days.

Shop around for 08 GT. Several dealers offered one to me for 29k, which doesn't include the factory rebate. I believe if you wait a few more months, factory rebates might be available. Since the 08s started to hit the dealership, I would wait if I were you.

Keep this in mind
It cost them *About the same* to get the car, no matter 07 or 08.
So remember, for 07, they HAVE TO GET RID OF THEM. Cuz 08s are here.
You can probably get a 07 GT for about 27 even 26K. Im not kidding.
For 08, if you can talk them into a deal, you can probably walk out around the same as 07 or probably EVEN lower. cuz when you do financing with them, they make money outa you.

I'm looking at a fully loaded 08 GT and they're talking 33+. I'm just going to wait until fall comes rolling around next year and get a deal then. I don't have the money at the moment...
