Well,

I finally broke down and bought mine today. So tell me.. I think I got a good deal.. Did I or is this just average?

6 spd MT with GT package and Navi (plus more "stuff")

Sitcker was $33475 and I paid $28996. It felt like we were haggling forever. (I paid less than a used one with 10k miles at another lot without the NAV was selling for..)

BTW -- I put about 60 miles on the car and fillied up again. Not much of an average, but I got about 17 miles to gallon, and was probably driving it a bit harder than I normally will. At what mile mark with the mileage improve? (although I don't think this is too bad)

thats a really good deal i think. in southern california where the demand for this car is high, i'd think it would be impossible to get that kinda price for the 8 here

It was at Carmax so the price was fixed. $29,xxx. Too rich for my blood. Car had 10k miles, MT/GT.

Me neither. I have access to the S-Plan and some other insight most people do not (from the sounds of things). Go to www.carmax.com and look at them.. Then compare what I wrote in my first post.. You decide..

When you say sticker, what were the add on's? There is a difference between sticker price and MSRP. Plus which state did you buy it in?

The Mazda window sticker was $33,100 and the other $245 were for dealer installed options. Got it in Ga.

i went to look at rx-8 today and i found one, i don't know if its gt or anything like that, but the sticker price was 29,000, so i figure it was gt package.
i got it down to 25,000 with tax and everything. i just need to go back this weekend and drive back myself with 8

Youngkyun739 -- speaking of used RX-8s ... when I was looking for my 8, I found one that met my specs perfectly, and it had about 2,000 miles on it. The dealer wanted INVOICE price! I told them it was a used car ... they said no, it was considered new (it had never been titled). I walked out. Bought a new one from another dealer ....
